Ask yourself this.

Could you do a standing jump nearly 5 feet into the air...

And do the splits...

And remember to look up at the camera...

And smile?

Lizzie can.

Those pointy things are scary.

M574 30 splits the signals at Holton, IN amid the day's highest sun. This was the first train rolling east since just after midnight, and with a five hour drive back home, it was this or nothing.

Doing the splits on two moving grass stalks, that's skill. Doing it while carrying a bug? That's talent!

Named for the nearby Pripyat River, Pripyat was founded on 4 February 1970, the ninth nuclear city in the Soviet Union, for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. It was officially proclaimed a city in 1979, and had grown to a population of 49,360 before being evacuated a few days after the 26 April 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

Though Pripyat is located within the administrative district of Ivankiv Raion, the abandoned city now has a special status within the larger Kiev Oblast (province), being administered directly from Kiev. Pripyat is also supervised by Ukraine's Ministry of Emergencies, which manages activities for the entire Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.

Access to Pripyat, unlike cities of military importance, was not restricted before the disaster as nuclear power stations were seen by the Soviet Union as safer than other types of power plants. Nuclear power stations were presented as being an achievement of Soviet engineering, where nuclear power was harnessed for peaceful projects. The slogan "peaceful atom" (Russian: mirnyj atom) was popular during those times. The original plan had been to build the plant only 25 km (16 mi) from Kiev, but the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, among other bodies, expressed concern about it being too close to the city. As a result, the power station and Pripyat were built at their current locations, about 100 km (62 mi) from Kiev. After the disaster the city of Pripyat was evacuated in two days.

Right ahead line 90 towards Binche (with railway crossing), to the left line 92 to Thuin.

The crossing goods railway Piéton-Anderlues was broken up in 1989, but the tramway bifurcation is still there, although only the tracks to the left are in use. The junction is covered by a highway overpass now

For years, decades in some cases, I've had in the garage junks of wood too hard or thick for me to chop into splits, and too big for the fireplace. My wife gave me (the promise of) a log-splitter for my birthday a few months ago; a few days ago it arrived. I am pleased to announce that all but two of those big junks are now split and ready for the fire.

It’s sad to see what we do to some of the trees in our neighborhoods. I'd say this makes a strong case for underground utility lines.

A chameleon on a tree doing the splits. Usually chameleons are active only during the night, but this one was searching during the afternoon for a spot where he would wait for insects. He moved quite quickly from branch to branch being very agile and well balanced.

THE BANANA SPLITS BANANA BUGGY

Aurora – 832

1/18 Scale – 1969

Although stated on the box as being 1/25 scale, the Banana Buggy is approximately 1/18. Another scale discrepancy lies with the figures, which are slightly undersize in relation to the vehicle.

Colorado Springs, CO - There is a banana in there somewhere. I think it's hiding. It was fun taking pictures of this edible art piece but I think the best part was eating it.

A female Bearded Tit. One of up to 8 that entertained the throng of photographers and birders at the grit trays at Leighton Moss yesterday morning.

Sometimes, just sometimes mind, I feel like there are many different versions of me in my head which are all trying to have their say. Luckily I can usually bitch slap them down and gain control in a second or two but this poor dear has no such luck. She's stuck with her multiple belligerent personalities nearly all day everyday and it is driving her close to madness. She is graced with an astounding beauty though so many men think that she is unbelievably amazing and that she should be their girlfriend. Unfortunately most men just can't handle those levels of craziness but if any of them had looked upon the Maskell-Williams sexy/crazy scale then they would have found out that it just wasn't going to work out...

Cheers
