A cop watching the speeding Ferrari Formula ONE car. Doha -Qatar

To finish my Big Apple set I post a picture that is perhaps very typical for New York: a cab in rush hour. Impossible to catch (be it for riding or for a picture). It also is a symbol for the life and heartbeat of this stunning and bustling city. Thanks for joining me on my 9-days long ride through NYC - I very much enjoyed my time and also appreciate your very valuable feedback. Your support and encouragment is very much appreciated.

Thanks to all who comment or favorite; it is always appreciated!

I took this abstract image through a train window, where the motion blurred the view into smooth horizontal lines of varying shades. The gentle gradient of colors and the minimalist composition evoke a sense of calm amidst the speed. This photograph transforms the fleeting moment of travel into a serene visual experience, finding beauty in the simplicity of motion.

Thank you for viewing! If you like this photo, remember to favorite it and follow for more! I'd love to hear your thoughts on capturing tranquility in motion. Share your comments below!

this one sounded great as well...that V8 sound bellowing off the canyon walls...so cool..

license plate is " RODEPNY "...very cool

For a change no Picnik effects used here. Using the train carriage as a tripod at f32/1.3sec iso100 whilst the train is doing about 25mph gives this interesting impression of speed. This was taken on a Keighley & Worth Valley steam service approaching Mytholmes Tunnel (looking back towards Keighley so the lens didn't get too wet). Mythomes tunnel was used on the original Railway Children film, though you may not recognise it much here!

"Do you know why I'm stopping you for? Well you was doing fifty-five in a fifty-four."

"Yeah whatever, can I pay cash? Cause I'm in a hurry!"

In the days of steam, Shap was a formidable climb from Tebay to Shap Summit. Today, the class 390 Pendolino is booked to take just 3 1/2 minutes between the two points.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - I checked an app and saw the International Space Station was going to fly by right as it got dark. It was a fairly bright pass at a magnitude of -2.5. I stacked 6 shots to show the entire trail of the ISS. The purple color near the northern horizon may be a faint aurora, but it's hard to say for sure.

One of the first things you notice when you get to Carkeek Park is the trains. You have to walk across an overpass over the tracks to get to the beach, and it seems that the trains run pretty frequently. It was actually helpful because every time a train came by, all the kids ran over to get a closer look, clearing the beaches for my shots. :) After a bit, I decided to join them and took a quick break from the sunset to catch one of these guys speeding by.

Speeding into last place, out dog Dancer pulls my wife on the 4 mile skijor race. Dancer is a malamute and not well suited to this sort of racing as they were bred to pull heavy loads short distances, so while strong, she's very slow.
