Camp Imua camper Jackson-Leigh Cheney-Look, 6, on Sunday makes friends with one of the horses that was brought to Camp Maluhia for the weeklong special-needs camp for school age children. Camp Imua is a program of Imua Family Services. This year, the camp hosted 52 campers, with 105 volunteers. Volunteers are 15 years and older. The days at Camp Imua are filled with horses to ride and pet, a swimming pool, arts and crafts, movies, excursions to the Maui Ocean Center, beaches and the Piiholo Ranch Zipline, plus a dance, bonfire and other activities. Camper Matthew D'Alessandro (bottom, from left), 8, swims with a dog during an excursion to Olowalu on Monday and Cole Magno, 7, plays on a boogieboard with the help of volunteer Zachary Pezzillo, 16.

Day 251 ~ Hard Day
Dominic came home from school on Friday with a fever and he was getting nursed back to health by Nana this weekend, so Curtis and I took Anna to the City Wide Garage Sale. This sort of thing is usually something she loves, but this day she had a hard time. She’s been more obsessed than usual and we aren’t sure if it’s the meds or school or what, but it’s hard to see her this unhappy. I was trying to get her to smile for me, but she turned away at the last moment and drifted away from me.

Allison's Dance Class visited an assisted living home. They all did a wonderful job! It's hard to remember sometimes that all these kids have some sort of learning disability because they do so well!
