Spaceship Earth is a geodesic sphere that serves as the symbolic structure of Epcot, at the Walt Disney World Resort. One of the most recognizable structures of any theme park, it is also the name of the dark ride attraction that is housed within the sphere that takes guests on a time machine-themed experience using the Omnimover system.
The 15-minute dark ride demonstrates to guests how advancements in human communication have helped to create the future one step at a time. Passengers journey back in time to witness the origins of prehistoric man, then travel forward in time to witness important breakthroughs in communication throughout history—from the invention of the alphabet to the creation of the printing press to today's modern communication advancements, including telecommunication and mass communication. At the conclusion of the ride, passengers have the chance to design their own future using touch screens that are embedded into the ride cars.
So, apparently there is an adult movie star named Christy Mack who said on twitter she'd like to trade some of her valuable time and saliva for a nice Lego creation to put in her house. That kinda got me thinking. What kind of model would she like? A train layout? A mosaic? Something girly, like a dollhouse? A brick-built vase of tulips?
After a couple of minutes of hard thinking I thought, screw it, I'll build a spaceship. I mean, everybody loves spaceships, right?
Just a quick shot of Spaceship Earth. The water spray is from the Fountain of Nations which is located in Epcot's plaza.
Adjustable wings, retractable landing gear, cockpit lighting

Walking into Epcot with my family, the line of trees and flowerbeds caught my eye. I should have let them go ahead and waited for a monorail to enter the frame. There's always the next time. :-)
The Sagittarius Star is a Gas Hauler in service with Galactic Transportation Partners, LTD. To help offset fluctuations in the market, GTP has retrofitted many of its Gas Haulers to carry a modest amount of standard shipping containers by removing one of the tertiary recycler tanks.
The Spaceship for my outpost. Fits a fig. I had a hard time getting some of those angles to work :|
Also has a landing position wich will be shown on the Full Outpost pic.
Sometimes you get tired of big models and want to build something without spending days and weeks for it :) This little guy is based on Ward fighter from GOF2, although I had to come up with some form and design changes due to its small scale.
Last year's March Break escape was Disney. Wish I was taking off again this March...
Epcot is the second of four theme parks built at Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida, near the city of Orlando. It opened as EPCOT Center (Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow) on October 1, 1982, and spans 300 acres (120 ha), more than twice the size of the Magic Kingdom park. It is dedicated to the celebration of human achievement, namely technological innovation and international culture, and is often referred to as a "permanent World's Fair."
Here is a sneak peek of what I'm currently working on. It is going to be a mid range reconnaissance spaceship called Heimdall. Powered by a pair of thermonuclear engines and equipped with a series of thermo-dump panels. So nothing fancy like FTL stuff but still good enough for some space dudes from the 80s ;)
Until today I was unsure if the overall design is actually doable because of the wing's mass and its tendency to bend. The panels covering the wings are mostly constructed from 1x1s therefore ensuing the rigidity was quite challenging.
Hubby and I both have birthdays coming up so we decided to SHARE the Sea Cow. I get the minifigs and the double decker couch. He gets to build the ship. It's a win-win situation :-)
I built Benny a mini spaceship to play with while we wait for Benny's real spaceship to come out (in the summer?). I'm no master builder, but he seems to like it :-)
Space and Scifi are definitely among my favorite universe and source of inspiration.
This Spaceship is based on the same internal structure I used for my first lighthouse model.
In addition to an interesting/original design it gives a very robust skeleton. Except the smoke the model is very solid ; perfect to play with! ;)
The spaceship was created because I wanted to create something beautiful. The project was born from love to sci - fi. This is my first MOC after the DA.
You can find it on the lego ideas. Support very welcome.
I've been wanting to do a baby version of a Classic Space spaceship for quite a while! Had a lot of fun building this and even more swooshing it afterwards. ;)
Don't forget to support the Baby Builds project on LEGO Ideas!

Lots of fun building this year! My first non-space ship in the USS Vancouver. First time building Ma.K. Having a tie with Pierre for People's Choice on SHIPtember. Amazing memories! Looking forward to 2022!
The D.S.S. LioDUPLOrodon is another vessel in the spacefleet of the planet DUPLON. It is a heavy hauler for some industrial conglomerate...not Octan, I swear, ignore the predominately green, white, and red scheme of the ship, nope, definitely not Octan...

My contribution to this year's SHIPtember. I don't have the time to build a "real" SHIP this year, but I do have time to build DUPLO with the kids as I watch them. The baby can put those ones in his mouth without me having to worry about choking, unlike regular System bricks. It feels like a significant upgrade on the DUPLOdocus of several years back, demonstrating, I hope, that my DUPLO building skills have improved over the years of dadding full-time.
