This looks like a spaceship with a city sticking out of the bottom. It’s amazing how the raindrops on this roll of film look like everything except raindrops. Nikomat FTn, “Fuzzy Purrito” Svema MZ-3 shot at EI 12, HC-110 1:90 for 18 minutes, agitated every three.
In the first scene of Star Wars, we see a small spaceship pursued by a much larger monolithic star cruiser which keeps coming and coming and coming. When I look up at the enormous buildings in London today and flip the image upside down, they remind me of these star cruisers...
This is Tejon Ranch property along Hwy 223. We have always thought that a spaceship landed here and hide itself it plain sight by covering up in earth & grass in the middle of a pasture. It really does have the shape of a 1950's toy model spaceship.
Tejon Ranch Company (NYSE: TRC), based in Lebec, California is one of the largest private landowners in California. The company was incorporated in 1936 to organize the ownership of a large tract of land that was consolidated from four Mexican land grants acquired in the 1850s and 60s by ranch founder General Edward Fitzgerald Beale. The company now owns over 270,000 acres (1,093 km2) in the southern San Joaquin Valley, Tehachapi Mountains, and Antelope Valley. It is the largest contiguous piece of private property in the state. Tejon Ranch’s agricultural operation primarily grows almonds, pistachios, and wine grapes, along with some alfalfa and the occasional row crop. Cattle leases cover about 250,000 acres (1,012 km2), and depending on the season, up to 12,000 head of cattle can be found grazing on the ranch.
Yesterday I hosted Christmas, so toady is my day of to relax - by building spaceship rides.
Yeah, Benny was pretty excited by that.
I was flabbergasted by this one... and I've seen my share of weird and beautiful clouds.
See this photo on my blog Living among the clouds - "Spaceship"
Tonight was a particularly clear moonless night, and therefore I decided to try out some star trails for the first time in Singapore. Turned out pretty good! Even the milky way was quite visible (top left of frame), but I thought a star trail image would be cooler since I was already composing the image facing South.

Fantasy at cold winter night.
A strange spaceship has just landed on the earth.
It had already got dark when I arrived at the vacant lot near Tokyo Bay.
The moonlight, however, had the unexpected effect on my photography.
I’m sure that windless, cold and deserted winter night is the best condition for long exposure, though it’s very rare to meet such ideas.
Hands down one of the most unique trains in the Kansai region, if not all of Japan, is Nankai Electric Railway's "Rapi:t" Airport Limited Express.
This train connects Kansai International Airport with Namba, right in the heart of famous Dotonbori. Built in 1994, the design was stylized to a "Retro Futuristic" motif, kind of like what you'd see from, say, The Jetsons cartoon. The design keeps with the aircraft theme with its blue color, oval windows, and spacious interior. Gotta say, its a gorgeous looking train.

Here is another custom Spaceship design. I think the light aqua and orange work well together and am proud of the way i was able to incorporate that windscreen piece.
Quabbin Reservoir, MA
The winter transformation is upon us here in Massachusetts!! The water is changing form and the shapes and compositions are unique and fleeting. This particular form, causes by the water level dropping causing a rock below the surface to force it's way up through the ice, lasted but one day. Rain, snow, or warming temperatures constantly change the winter landscape. I arrived at this location in the dark to witness one of the most spectacular light shows I have ever seen. Thanks for viewing and Happy Holidays!!!
Here is Miura “Fishy” Fishweasel, my tiny black cat.
This little cat loves getting in my windows while I’m trying to work. She fits perfectly through my spaceship doors and down the little hallways. She is gentle enough to navigate my scenes without knocking dolls over, so I am very tempted to make her a character on the mothership...
I have a few behind-the-scenes shots of her sitting around on the ship with the dolls.
Call me a glutton for punishment, but I really enjoy photographing Spaceship Earth with a telephoto (or a super-telephoto) as much as I enjoy shooting it with an ultra-wide angle lens. The Alucobond has such personality that you can't capture wide, but it shows up when you're tight.
Joshua is investigating an old spaceship shaped coin-operated ride. Not much room inside for anyone very large. This ship is part of the sign and pump collection we found in Provo.

While I’m not a fan of the legacy stones and would much prefer the classic EPCOT Center entrance plaza, I think they sometimes photograph well. I was really hoping to capture some monorails on the tracks, but they had stopped running about 10 minutes prior.
Something scavenged from old mocs lying in my "To sort" box. I've left a few notes describing bits and whatnot.
Built for the Starfighter Telephone Game round 6, for team Forest Fighters.
This was a ton of fun to build and I got to try out a lot of new (to me) techniques.
Big thanks to my Dad Borgendorf for the awesome photo editing! I would never be able to make my pictures look so good without him!
Statikos was chosen because the pilot is always standing. It means causing to stand in Greek.
So, apparently there is an adult movie star named Christy Mack who said on twitter she'd like to trade some of her valuable time and saliva for a nice Lego creation to put in her house. That kinda got me thinking. What kind of model would she like? A train layout? A mosaic? Something girly, like a dollhouse? A brick-built vase of tulips?
After a couple of minutes of hard thinking I thought, screw it, I'll build a spaceship. I mean, everybody loves spaceships, right?
An alternate build of the Benny's Spaceship set. We had an alt build build-off at Brickfete 2014 and this was my result: The Benny Race Car
The car does roll, and pretty well considering it has no traction or tires for that matter.
Walking into Epcot with my family, the line of trees and flowerbeds caught my eye. I should have let them go ahead and waited for a monorail to enter the frame. There's always the next time. :-)
The Sagittarius Star is a Gas Hauler in service with Galactic Transportation Partners, LTD. To help offset fluctuations in the market, GTP has retrofitted many of its Gas Haulers to carry a modest amount of standard shipping containers by removing one of the tertiary recycler tanks.
