For one summer in the mid 80's, I decided to teach myself how to do video editing... So I piled up a bunch of costume and prop elements; I commandeered an amazing studio space to build sets in; and I talked my friends into playing in costumes for the summer. These are some screenshots of the 15 minute video that resulted. I mean, literally screenshots... right now, I don't have the means to grab a frame digitally, so I pointed my camera at the television screen as the video played... ergo the moire pattern... perhaps will look into more advanced methodology... but there's something apropos to this lo-tech approach. The special effects were comparable to early Dr Who, the total budget was around $90 (mostly flashlights and plastic), and it was a lovely lark with fine friends... (and I did learn a thing or two about editing!)

SpaceEngine - A free space simulation program that lets you explore the universe in three dimensions, from planet Earth to the most distant galaxies. Areas of the known universe are represented using actual astronomical data, while regions uncharted by astronomy are generated procedurally. Millions of galaxies, trillions of stars, countless planets - all available for exploration. You can land any planet, moon or asteroid and watch alien landscapes and celestial phenomena. You can even pilot starships and atmospheric shuttles.

Space Aliens! — It's unlikely that this creature will be found in the recent declassified UFO investigation documents because this alien-looking creature was found right here on Earth. This creature is actually a dried up old caterpillar which happens to be of the Giant Leopard Moth species (Hypercompe Scribonia).
