Leading an environmentally friendly lifestyle can be so simple. If you’re going to leave a room for more than three minutes in the evening, it pays to turn off the light. Or: regularly checking your tire pressure increases driving safety and saves gas. These are only two of the 40 solutions in the areas of mobility, energy, everyday habits and retail consumption that are easy to put into practice immediately, 40 suggestions that you can playfully explore on a Touch Table. Users can also ascertain their own CO2 footprint. The original version of this installation is part of an exhibition entitled L’Oracle du Papillon in Fribourg, Switzerland.

JLF Moving Solutions Take Delivery of New Scania R320
… while their first Scania hits the 1½ million kilometres landmark
Keltruck, the largest independent Scania Distributor in Europe, has supplied a new Scania R320 to JLF Moving Solutions of Burntwood, Staffordshire. The truck is the fifth Scania truck to join their fleet, while the first – bought in 2001 – is still going strong and has recently surpassed 1½ million kilometres.
JLF Moving Solutions was started by brothers, John & Steve Lomas in 2009, with 35 years’ experience. The first vehicle they owned was a Ford Transit van. They now have 31 vehicles, including five Scania trucks, to help them with removals, homepack services, office removals, European removals, containerised storage, document storage and specialist services to the fire & flood industry.
Steve and John first bought a Scania truck in 2001 as they needed larger vehicles than the 7.5 tonne HGVs they were using. That truck, a P220 day cab fitted with ARZ sleeper pod for two people, has been serviced by Keltruck Willenhall for nearly 20 years and is still going strong with more than one and half million kilometres on the clock.
John Lomas, Company Director commented, “The first Scania truck we bought has been, and continues to be, a great truck for us. All our drivers like driving the Scanias – and this one in particular. Even Steve and I drive it from time to time.”
Their new Scania R320 high roof is the company’s first new generation Scania with the newly developed interior. JLF was able to customise their truck by adding a third seat to accommodate a full team of moving staff.
Keltruck has now been working with Steve and John for 18 years and has developed a great working relationship. All of JLF Moving Solutions’ Scania vehicles are serviced on long term repair and maintenance contracts, starting at 60 months and extending beyond that.
John Lomas continued, “The Scania trucks are excellent – a great drive and very robust – while the support we get from Keltruck is outstanding, both in terms of the buying process and the aftersales services.”

BIA method (bioelectrical impedance) is the most simple and effective method to measure the fat, protein, body water, and bone mass of human body.
It is one of the important conditions for health to have a proper proportion of various components in the body and keep them relatively stable. Excessiveness or deficiency of a certain body component is often a sign or symptom of illness. Long-term imbalance of body composition will bring serious harm to health and is closely related to the following diseases: cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, osteoporosis, kidney diseases, metabolic diseases, digestive system diseases, obesity, and body fat dysfunction.
Keeping a certain proportion of body composition stable is one of the important indicators to measure whether a person is healthy or not. The fluctuation of human body components and the imbalance between components can scientifically define obesity level and have auxiliary diagnostic functions for some other diseases. Therefore, the stability of body composition is one of the important standards to measure a person's healthiness. Accurate, simple, and rapid determination of human body composition can be used in the etiology and pathogenesis of various nutritional metabolic diseases (including nutritional disorders), nutritional disorders or metabolic disorders, clinical manifestations, as well as the basis of nutritional diagnosis and nutritional treatment. After equipment testing, fitness professionals can give quantitative advice to the subject, to help them achieve a healthier body.
Based on the body composition analysis report, solutions can be provided for patients with primary nutritional disorders caused by insufficient, excessive, or improper intake of nutrients.

Estábamos comiendo cuando sacamos un tónica del pack de 6 y parecía que estaba vacía, tenía muy poca cantidad de bebida. Pensamos que había sido un problema de llenado en la fábrica pero resulto que tenía un poro y en el transporte se había vaciado. Asique éste experimento no fue intencionado. Probablemente nos la hubiesen cambiado en el supermercado pero era más entretenido realizar esta adivinanza en flickr...

It happened this way:
We were eating when we took a can from the pack of 6 and we realized that one of the cans was very empty. We thought it could be a filling error. But then we realized that it was broken, and probably has been emptied in the transport. Maybe the supermarket will give us another can, but it was more interesting to make this riddle at flickr...

Here is my third very solid solution to the Reverse Engineering 3's week 7 tie-break.
I've been looking for a solution that connects everything with studs. This one comes closest, using a couple flex tubes for additional rigidity. This one is probably not stronger than my version 2, but is no weaker either.
The exploded view is color-coded. The black bricks are travis bricks, the lime ones are 1x1 technic, and the grey one is a plain 1x1. The two travis-technic-travis units are held together with flex tube.
The travis and technic bricks hold 10 of the 12 side plates and one of the "pyramids".
There are two kinds of 1x1 plate with horizontal rod holders in this -- the one with the thin loop and the one with the thick loop. Here the thin loop is light pink and the thick loop is dark pink.
The thick loop is one plate thick and puts the dark-red 1x1 plates flush to the top. Unfortunately, it also puts the one to the side slightly down from the top. This works fine for a connection to a 1x2 tile. So this connects the last two side tiles and two of the end plates of the second pyramid.
These plates will not fit on the other two travis bricks because that offset would make them run into the technic bricks.
Luckily we have the thin-loop ones. These are proportioned so that the red 1x1 plates on their loops line up with the side of their plate. They are connected to the other two end plates of the pyramid, and also to the same side tile as the technic bricks.
And to even further stiffen it, a pin-stud and regular 1x1 connect the plates through the center. (In the IRL model the center brick is round since I really seem to have lost my entire container of 1x1s.)
--An assembly note - notice the thin loop plate does not actually push into the travis brick. (The front corner of the bottom right inset.) This does not affect solidity in the least as it is securely connected in three other ways. However, it is best to connect it to the end plate first, and then assemble it in.
Fat factory -
Intralipid is also widely used in optical experiments to simulate the scattering properties of biological tissues. Solutions of appropriate concentrations of intralipid can be prepared that closely mimic the response of human or animal tissue to light at wavelengths in the red and infrared ranges where tissue is highly scattering but has a rather low absorption coefficient.
USG was excited for the opportunity to host the "Hungry for Solutions Expo" as part of our Civic Engagement Series.
The expo featured a competition with proposals from student teams seeking to end hunger in Montgomery County, as well as info sessions with local nonprofit organizations. Each team received grant money to help put their proposals into action.
The panel of judges included professionals from Marriott, Sodexo, Les Dames d'Escoffier, the Montgomery County Food Security Collaborative and the Community Food Rescue.
