A bit of airbrushing to make it suitable for the Week 16 - minimalism - with the Compositionally Challenged group; partly because I had an entry slot that I could use up.
I didn't think that making it more minimalist would improve on the original composition, but I thought I would do it anyway just to see how it went. I still prefer the original but at least this doesn't look horrible. Freestyle airbrushing by the way.
The Solar powered lights were a new addition to the planters. The setting sun back lit the lights so I decided to capture the sparkles.
7DOS Broken Sunday
One of our little garden solar lights no longer shines in the evening!! It fell off a tree, ouch!!

Powered by the solar module running all the outdoor lighting, this gazebo has a strip light underneath, plus a flickering candle light, in a star-shape hanging lamp. The tin roof, and the overall rustic look blend in with the yard. The table is slate, tiled over a welded steel frame with is attached to the triple-trunk base of a former Cottonwood tree that died in 2005.
What a great use of a tree stump, wouldn't you say!
Dogwood 52 Week Photography Challenge - Week 3
Artistic (Red)
Struggled this week and had my mind elsewhere. Ended up shooting this Mosaic Solar lamp in the garden, with a twist.

ODT- blue

A better arrangement of solar lights. But the little jars are a bad design. Rain gets into them and would soon corrode the light connections. I had to go round each internal rim with transparent glue. It was worth the trouble because they do look exceptionally pretty at night, (and inoffensive in the daytime).
After the nightly rainstorm I peeked outside and saw the lilies glowing beneath our solar deck light. They looked so lovely against the black night sky that I ran out with my camera to capture their golden glow.
Thanks for the comments.

If you're wondering about the title, the tree and solar-powered lights are both "nourished" by the sun.
Well, as long as we have had some sunshine this little light bulb will light up in the evening ~ solar light!

These jars have little solar lights within and are really bright during our evenings. They also have nice handles made from rope!

It's a solar light that hangs from a tree in our garden. However, we've been having a lot of rain over the past few days as can be witnessed by the rainwater that has managed to get inside the light bulb!!
