This is what I see when I go out my back (kitchen) door - huge camellia blossoms (a good 6" across!!) and the swell light from my newish pergola. Love this little scene.
Ceramic mosaic Dog and 4 Cat sculptures with solar light for a garden setting. I wanted to do a set of 5 pieces and was inspired by the whimsy of a harlequin I had seen. Animals, our pets, always have a silly nature, if allowed.

My landing on Lake Erie. Ashtabula Ohio. May 25, 2009
The COVID-19 emergency has led me to explore my garden more for photographic opportunities. It’s good to discover the silver linings, however hard they are to see sometimes.

A composition taken for the Compositionally Challenged group - A Glass of Water.
The glass was back lit with three solar lights which had a sequence of colours. The lights ran through the sequence independently, so the mix of colours changed constantly. Water was poured into the glass before this part of the shoot, and set at a level that showed up on the photos. A series of photos was taken in an attempt to get a variety of coloured lighting effects. Each photo was cropped in iPhoto and a copy made with a border added in Picasa.
Chances have been limited for getting outside and enjoying our deck. Been a very wet May this year but hoping June will have more dry days.
I bought this lamp for my back porch. It isn't vintage, it's just made to look like it is- doesn't matter to me though, I like it!
Well Wedding lights? I put these out all day to charge and this is what I saw later this evening - there kinda cool and maybe good around the dance floor.
We purchased this figures to light up our balcony and flowers at night. They work with small solar panels on the back, so in daytime we make sure these face into the sunlight and are 'on'. It is just a fun and whimsical idea because is saw the owls in a store and loved them. We put the little dwarfs into the kitchen and bathroom so we don't stumble too much if going in either one at night. The owls are quite heavy, so no risk of winds blowing them off our balcony tables.

A bit of airbrushing to make it suitable for the Week 16 - minimalism - with the Compositionally Challenged group; partly because I had an entry slot that I could use up.
I didn't think that making it more minimalist would improve on the original composition, but I thought I would do it anyway just to see how it went. I still prefer the original but at least this doesn't look horrible. Freestyle airbrushing by the way.
The Solar powered lights were a new addition to the planters. The setting sun back lit the lights so I decided to capture the sparkles.
7DOS Broken Sunday
One of our little garden solar lights no longer shines in the evening!! It fell off a tree, ouch!!
Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... Thanks to you all.
Powered by the solar module running all the outdoor lighting, this gazebo has a strip light underneath, plus a flickering candle light, in a star-shape hanging lamp. The tin roof, and the overall rustic look blend in with the yard. The table is slate, tiled over a welded steel frame with is attached to the triple-trunk base of a former Cottonwood tree that died in 2005.
What a great use of a tree stump, wouldn't you say!
