There was little sun here today so our solar-powered lights in the backyard died pretty quickly into the evening. But the night lights in the neighborhood more than made up for it.
My solar lights are on the north side of the house and now that the sun is moving north, they are getting enough sunlight during the day to come on. Just thought they cast a nice glow and shadow on the snow.
To those of you who think this is deep snow, the top of the lantern comes to just above my knee. It's in my herb garden.

It was quite nice outside this afternoon so I went out to the herb garden and pulled out all the old plants and cut back the ones that will come back in the spring. Then I set up my solar lights and waited until this evening to enjoy them. I really love the pretty light and shadows they make.
148:365 - Aurora: What luck, a solar storm while I'm on Lake Superior. For a sense of scale, the light in the lower right is the Huron Island lighthouse, about 5 miles from shore.

*** Think About It ***
Up in space there is no distinction of up and down or east and west. Human beings create distinctions out of their own minds and attitudes, then they believe them to be true.
*** Food for thought: the science of Astronomy has calculated that there are at least One Hundred Thousand Million Stars in our Milky Way Galaxy and there are at least 200 Billion other Galaxies.
*** Something to think about: Our sun is just a single star and you and I are just two human beings on this planet Earth of 7.8 Billion other humans. *** WHY ARE WE WHO WE ARE?

Others see the sun;
but what I see is a star,
Earth's personal star

By measuring starlight - specifically, the color and brightness - astronomers have determined that our Milky Way has about 100 billion stars in its system. Using the Milky Way as a model, astronomers have multiplied the number of stars in a typical galaxy (100 billion) by the number of galaxies in the known universe (2 trillion). The result is an absolutely astounding number of approximately 200 billion trillion stars in our known universe. Given that the earth’s star (the sun) has eight planets revolving around it, one of which has humans on it. Is it reasonable to believe that human beings here on the planet earth are the only beings in existence?
