my favorite breakfast - with a nice light roast coffee.

Soft boiled egg in a cup with a dish towel on a rustic table and brick background

A common breakfast dish - usually served with hot beverages (coffee/tea) with toast. Eggs are poached in boiling hot water for several minutes to yield eggs that has a thickened yolk with runny whites.

The local coffee chains usually offer toast+hot beverage+runny eggs in a set.

Each ramen order comes with a whole soft boiled egg and it was done very well with a perfectly runny yolk. (via Foodspotting)

possibly the best breakfast I have had in NY (all of America actually) - Brown on Hester St between Ludlow and Essex. Subway to East Broadway. I had soft bolied eggs and Jez had baked eggs.

Sherry vinegar, maple syrup and topped with cream. Oh. My. God.

Dinner @ Saveur with a mate.

Served with creamy green lentils, soft-boiled egg and natural jus.

My mate's choice of main.

Not a fan of lentils but the pork belly was quite well-done - tender and soft, and taste and smell robustly of well cooked pig but I wish the crackling was just a little more crispy as the underside was a tad on the 'soggy' side.
