My wife was a good sport about it this morning when I grabbed her plate and photographed her breakfast.

这次选择了靠近太平洋SOGO复兴馆的 “顶好店"。想在6点进场用餐,在3点钟打电话定位时,已经只有要和其他人拼用的桌子了。还好炉子是不用拼用的。

 

我们拼桌的另外两组人。。。

Steeped in boiling water for 9 minutes to just thicken the egg yolk, but still oozy. Next time, maybe 7 or 8 minutes will do.

Thursday a week ago I had two appointments at the doctor's, one at half past nine and one at twelve. As I had two hours time in between I went for a second breakfast in a café in Siegburg.

 

I had a fresh, crisp bread roll with Norwegian smoked salmon, a soft-boiled egg (with a perfect consistency) and a huge cup of tea for around 7 € (including the tip).

Zweites Frühstück

 

Donnerstag vor einer Woche hatte ich zwei Arzttermine - einen um halb neun und einen um zwölf. Dazwischen hatte ich zwei Stunden Zeit und so gönnte ich mir ein zweites Frühstück in einem Café in Siegburg.

 

Ich hatte ein frisches, knuspriges Brötchen mit norwegischem Räucherlachs, ein weichgekochtes Ei (mit perfekter Konsistenz) und eine Riesentasse Tee für ca. 7 € (inklusive Trinkgeld).

Egg at 66.5°C - outside

Kaya toast (except that the bread here is steamed instead) and runny eggs with loadsa soy sauce and white pepper.

 

NB kaya is coconut jam.

My youngest daughter looked at it and said, "Oh, cute, a puppet!" Hmm...I guess it could be a puppet too.

These are duck eggs (yolks), awaiting to serve their higher purpose as custard. Duck yolks are naturally larger and richer than chicken eggs.

新加坡所谓的“自助餐”在台湾叫“吃到饱”。 而“自助餐”的定义好像和新加坡不太一样哦。到这里,当然是点"吃到饱" 啦。饮料也无限量供应, 好划算哦!

 

牛角的“吃到饱”只有在Sun- Thurs 才有提供,用餐时限为两小时。周五,六是单点制的。如果是一大班朋友约好来用餐但陆续到, 时限以第一位点餐客人为准哦。但吃到来,还是很划算啦!

花枝...好厚一大块, 有拇指头粗!超夸张的。而且超有韧性的。在嘴巴里和牙齿大战三百回合后,还是放弃了。

Very good (heavenly) crackling.....although I find the pork belly slices cut a tad too thick and so the meat while prepared well...was a tad too chunky to enjoy.

 

It was novel to pair pig with pig....sweet Chinese sausage to go with roasted pork belly...all piggy deliciousness....

 

But I do find the smoked eggplant and soft-boiled egg detached from the dish.....what are we supposed to do with them?

 

The birthday gal at my table went gaga over the ultra-silky mashed potato.

Add-on for $1. Absolutely perfect. Whole soft boiled egg that when split reveals a warm, runny yolk. Must order. (via Foodspotting)

杏鲍菇...轻轻刷上一层日式酱油, 再微微烙一下就可以吃了!微微散发出的菇菌香。 好吃!

不新鲜的虾...卖相果然不是很好, 口感就更不用说了。

意大利酱羊五花...蒜茸和香料味挺重的, 大概也是用来去掉羊膻味吧。但还不错吃!

温泉玉子, 一口咕噜就下喉了...但用来当沾酱,口感也不错哦!但以防沙門氏菌(Salmonella)感染,还是少吃为妙...
