This is what happens when you give a pro shop gift certificate to someone who doesn't play a lot of golf.
I've been meaning to document it for a while now, and got lucky today when I found myself in the garage just before sunset. The light coming in was beautiful, so I set the sock monkey up for a shot and placed it in the light at the opening of the garage.
I made this quilt for my granddaughter in Texas. It didn't make it for Christmas, but will get there soon. I used one jelly roll for the roman coin stripes and bought enough for the sashing and borders. I tried the eco friendly batting that Joanns is carrying. It is made from corn. It is like poly batting. I should have pinned it more. It is very wispy and came apart at the edges. Not sure I would use it again.

gotta love target...so cute & so affordable. and they keep my toesies cute & warm! =)
now if only i could learn to knit & crochet so i could make sure cuties...i am determined to before the end of 2008. =)
Yeah, sometimes I break down and make sock giraffes - not the easiest critters to sew, but real fun result.

These are some sock monkeys I made for the monkey show. The one on the left was inspired by the rubber nipple salesman episode of Ren & Stimpy.
now begins the tedious task of sewing squares together and weaving in ends.
Did I mention the hook size was wrong in the book? and it wasn't corrected until after I had made 9 squares? So the squares are all a little looser and bigger than they should be? Well, it was and they are.
I'm not bitter.
July 06 - Bruce Lee sock monkey, for Craftster Challenge #13. Yarn hair, felt eyebrows, button eyes, embroidered mouth and scratches, pants with gathered cuffs and a button closure for his tail, white socks and tiny felt shoes. Bruce Lee Monkey also has wiring all through his body for easier ass-kicking stances.
Wonderful, dangerous thing. Stripus McGreenley is showing off my latest purchase. A yard of print-on-demand fabric from Spoonflower. Spoonflowerer tammikins designed a yard of Pantone swatches. I've got pattern ideas and now I've got the swatches that will get me the results I want.
And the sock monkey began his training!

Gonna do a week with the kids...hopefully they won't hate me too much at the end of the week...they HATE when they see my camera. I had to bribe T for this one. Sooo NOT what I had in mind, but I'm tired of messing with it. This is the only day I have to really mess with photoshop. I had planned on doing this outside...but it's soaking wet out there.

Sockmonkey from Siansburys arrived today, he's called Marmite, cute as. Posing here just after unpacking.
Icing image sheets applied. The cake was not high enough for the image, so I cut it down with scissors after applying. It was pretty easy - it stuck really well to the white icing.
I picked up this old sock monkey today at a sale for a couple of dollars and with his scarf, vest and cap he looks decidedly french to me. I'm a sucker for monkeys. He's a keeper.
Because when I think Halloween, I think sock monkey. But only because of that calendar miss bunny sent me. Remember the calendar?
Anyway, my Instagram terror video skills are awesome.
Some pink socks that I never wore got turned into this colourful sock monkey. I then knitted her a top and created a skirt from a scrap of Liberty fabric and some ric rac trim.
