Macro Mondays - Socket

Happy Macro Monday everyone.

Just my phone!

Smile on Saturday -there is a hole in...

Happy to introduce you: Leon!

This skin was inspired by Leon, from the game Resident Evil 4, which is getting a remake to be released by the end of this month!

I'm really excited about it and had to invite my beloved friends to make a collab, so don't forget to check Val'more booth and Usagi Society(Serena Von B) and grab their amazing creations too!

He has 5 tone options with brows/browless versions and BOM only.

Leon skins also come with "La Plaga", an alternate version also inspired by the game.

HD ears & shape* included.

Shown on Eon.

*Most of my shapes are meant to be used without the eye socket option, on Lelutka HUD, plus non-rigged eyes.(I recommend buying the Catwa Eye HUD)

Dust free Socket!

Enough with the marketing-style exclamation marks. But my dear husband did find this rather vintage VGA socket on one end of an adaptor in his office in the #original packaging#.

I loathe shooting dust, especially with this 2X magnification lens. I dusted off the plastic and then focused on it for this bizarre look.

NB. MM admins: If packaging is not allowed, I understand.

Red Eyed Crocodile Skink. These lizards looks like a miniature crocodile rather than a species of skink. The body scales are rough, with three hard, spiky projections running along their back down to the tip of the tail. The eyes are unique with a red/orange ring around the eye socket and yellow in the corner of the eye.

As a child of the 1960's, I was quite familiar with the phrase Sock it to me! when it was repeated over and over to great effect in the 1967 hit recording Respect by Aretha Franklin (lyrics by Otis Redding). The phrase invokes a spirited readiness to accept a challenge, as in 'give me your best shot'.

I hadn't initially planned on participating this week, then I thought of the title for the image (my apologies!). All I needed was Brian to perform, showing his best attitude and looking ready for anything. I decided to use a Brian with the striped shell as it complemented the striped reflections on the sockets which was emphasised in the monochrome treatment.

No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.

About 8 months early but let us take a Macro Mondays look at a Christmas Light Socket, frame size is 3/8 inch long or 13mm long.

Electric bolts coming off the pins of a Electric plug into a two pin Electric Adaptor socket. The electric was created using a Electric gas Igniter but what you can't see is the Ozone gas given of by the spark. It a shame I couldn't create the shot Underwater 😂

Today's Macro Mondays theme is socket. I wanted this innocent-looking socket to seem completely shocked upon hearing that a plug was coming her way. My brain and soul needed something light and unserious, if just for a bit today; the world is so heavy and uncertain. HMM!

No highlights were blown.

A "socket" is an opening or hollow designed to form a connection to a mating part. There are numerous examples of electrical sockets: light sockets, CPU sockets, USB sockets, outlets, headphone sockets, and vacuum-tube sockets to name a few. Non-electrical sockets include things like socket wrenches and pipe sockets.

A dark room with two small, portable lights some distance from the socket. Darkness helps to hide dust.

outside water outlet/socket - HMM & HTT!

These are man-made sockets and not real body-parts, but I decided againts posting this picture to the group, it's a case of doubt.

"This theme is about human-designed sockets and not about body parts such as eye sockets or socket joints. Photos depicting naturally occuring sockets or body parts will be removed."

This picture depicts a porcelain doll's head, not a real bodypart.

After a day working in Ely, I came here for some sunset pictures, although I knew the rush of freights would probably be a little too early for the best sun elevation. As can be seen from the exposure settings, the sun was still quite high in the sky and very bright, and was just emerging from fairly thin cloud. This was the second train I photographed, the first being an eastbound container train which had less orange in the sky.

I took this from ground level because after initially getting the live view image on my monitor, it kept disappearing when I extended the pole and I couldn't get it back - as the train approached! I'm currently experimenting to try to work out what the problem is - HDMI socket in the monitor, HDMI cables or micro HDMI socket in my new camera?

(Thanks to JWHT for the loco ID.)

Manipulation notes: the colour saturation has been increased a little and the highlights darkened, as the colours in the sky were quite weak.

These sockets are bayonet mounts for twin antennas on a handheld frequency analyzer. This is the thing you see them waving around in the movies looking for bugs and hidden listening devices. It also has many other uses. The two antennas make it directional. It is 2 3/4 inches wide.
