I grew up in California and one of my favourite books back then was PD Eastman's book called Snow. The illustrations showed snow falling like big white snow balls.
When I moved to Canada at age 10, I was so disappointed at the first snow fall where little tiny snowflakes fell and melted on the ground.
There are beautiful snow days in Canada however, where the snow does fall in big white fluffy puffs. This picture was taken on New Years Eve on our way home.
Many years later......my 680 caught the PD Eastman perfect snow :)

This is a recent (mid December 2013) photograph taken on a very snowy evening in Minneapolis, MN. Somewhere between the exposure and the lab processing, something must have gone awry because the images were mostly dark and grainy. The effect was not anticipated, but appreciated =)

I have to say it’s a lot easier making, photographing and uploading a card within the 90 minute deadline when you know what the challenge is going to be! I thought it might be a bit of fun to have a something unexpected challenge and I really can’t wait to see what everyone uses as their unexpected element!
Supplies:
Snowy House CG212
Holiday Dolls CL357
Snowy Night CG224 (Sue (stampersuzz) sent me this, the Butterflies (3 images) cling and more gorgeous goodies as a prize for one of her fun games over the OWH weekend – thanks again Sue, love them!)
Snowflakes embossing folder, ProMarkers, diamond stickles, glossy accents & washing powder (used it for snow on the ground and added some stickles for sparkle).

Winter night photography on the Great Lakes has its own magic. A late-night drive can be therapeutic—like glacier ice breaking away, searching for warmer waters.
For me, it’s my camera and tripod, capturing the unusual beauty we often overlook in our daily lives.
This spot has housed several restaurants over the years, but now seems to be a private space under the current Erie Basin Marina owners. I believe SmithBoys has run it since the mid-2010s, but its past and future remain a mystery.
My wife and I come here for ice cream and sunsets, but year-round, Erie Basin Marina is a go-to for breathtaking city views.
The Great Lakes are special like that—wouldn’t trade them for a coastal city anytime soon. 🌊❄️✨
It snowed all through the night. I so wanted to go out and walk around but thought better of it. It's not that I'm not adventurous, just recognizing the limitations that come with age.

A trip downtown by light rail to see the Holidazzle parade and the Macy's 8th floor exhibit which this year's theme had something to do with Elves at the North Pole. A Day in the Life of an Elf sort of thing...Really Neat!
This is one of the floats I see every year. This nutcracker moves pretty quickly, is agile, and can spin around pretty fast.

*streets of love* ~ song lyrics by rolling stones
www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtqJ1tLTto0
You're awful bright, you're awful smart
I must admit you broke my heart
The awful truth is really sad
I must admit I was awful bad
While lovers laugh and music plays
I stumble by and I hide my pain
The lights are lit, the moon is gone
I think I've crossed the Rubicon
I walk the streets of love and they're full of tears
And I walk the streets of love and they're full of fears
While music pumps from passing cars
A couple watch me from a bar
A band just played the wedding march
And the corner store mends broken hearts
And a woman asks me for a dance
Oh it's free of charge, just one more chance
I walk the streets of love and they're full of tears
Walk the streets of love for a thousand years
Oh tell me now
I... Oh I walk the streets of love, yeah and they're drenched with tears... Oh
You had the moves, you had the cards
I must admit you were awful smart
The awful truth is awful sad
I must admit I was awful bad
And I walk the streets of love and they're drenched with tears
And I walk the streets of love for a thousand years... Oh
Walk the streets of love and they're drenched with tears
Oh every night, oh there's only one and not enough for him
Oh I, yeah and they're full of tears
Oh everybody talk about it
Everybody be walking down it
Yeah but I found out.... oh yes that I...
Oh yes I do
Oh the streets of love, yeah, they're drenched with, drenched with in tears...
I... oh yeah I don't want to...
The coal-black American Radiator building, speckled by snow, looms over Bryant Park. And the Empire State building, enveloped by low clouds, takes on a ghostly appearance. The snow-covered branches were lit up by the park's lights for its ice skating rink.
The Radiator Building, built in 1924, was designed by John Howells and Raymond Hood, for use as the headquarters of the American Radiator Company. Today, the building serves as a hotel, The Bryant Park Hotel.
