More or less taken from my car, as the snipe was looking for food on the pond about 15m away from me.
Birds in general look far less frightened by cars than by a human shape ..

After a long weekend of fun with some interesting photography, it 's back to reality today. To make things worse, the weather was so dull that I lost my mood to do any photo shoot. I headed over to the bay and found this photog with an oversize camera bag walking along the levee. I thought it 's a good idea to play sniper. I kid you not, it feels like summer here judging from his attire.
Fun fact, i sold this lens 6-7 years ago and recently, by chance, i found it on sale and bought it immediately.
Postcard from an album which had a caption referencing the soldier providing respects to an observer who had been killed. The dealer apparently removed the postcard from the album after photographing it for Ebay.
I was interested in the photo in part because of the reference to the observer, Brett's image of the sniper who was killed by a head shot (probably by an Allied sniper ) and Brett's reference to an article by a British soldier stating there was a cottage industry in creating dummies back in Britain to send to the front and draw German sniper fire. The angle of the bullet trail in the dummy could then be used to closely approximate the location of the sniper who could then be located and killed. It seems that the British and Germans were particularly interested in measures to locate and kill opposing snipers.
Schneeschuhtruppen on a mountainside display equipment including a number of bandoleers. Included in the group, is a sniper displaying his rifle with scope.
From a while back...
Just searching the archives to see if I've got another project in me!! Still not too sure yet!!
Anyway stumbled on this from after the last 366 project and I liked how the shadows had fell.
SOOC, throwing the paper chain in the air just before the shutter opened then wait and see!!!
2 SB-700's one back right with a snoot (at some power and zoom) and one in front of me STU at some power... Sorry I forget the finer details.

What I think about during senior comp instead of paying attention to lectures about dangling modifiers.
Okay, that's a lie, I pay attention to that because the word "dangling" makes me laugh.
