I snipped a corner with small nail scissors.

Taking a walk with with some small scissors tucked in a pocket, I was ready to collect foliage in my neighborhood. There have been times I've wanted to snip off a bit of colorful weeds that were spotted along trails. It turned out to be my lucky day. On the return trip home, I spied tall Queen Anne's Lace plants (those with thick stems)...and the flowers were pink! Egads! I had no idea that my favorite weed came in pastel colors. What a treasure!

A Wilson's Snipe makes a rare appearance in our backyard, and even allowed us to get decently close!

Just look at the difference in the length of their beaks. The Ruff having a short stubby beak (for a wader) whilst the Snipe with its long beak clearly needs to dig much deeper for its prey. Photographed at Blacktoft Sands.

Back still dodgy so another close up, but on my 50mm this time as I preferred the way it handled the focus and DoF.

If any mono experts out there can offer help or guidance on how to get my shots looking less 'muddy', I'd be pleased for advice!
