An interesting lesson about underwater photography that I learned from Brad is that instead of finding the interesting animal to take a picture of, find the visually interesting location where they could be. Since we don't have high-tech underwater cameras, this method seems to work well. At first, I kept thinking my camera sucked at taking pictures underwater. But all I needed was the right conditions: a depth of 15-20 feet and early mornings or late afternoons. It's not easy, but it was still fun!

Back at Calabas Reef, the wonders never stop!
Last year, we visited the anchor a lot, but didn't notice this giant Cubera snapper hanging out. It was massive and a sight to behold. In a few dives, I was pretty scared of it to even take a picture. It always felt that it was coming right for me. But it's pretty chill, and it turns out that the anchor is its home. We just weren't that observant before. We nicknamed him, Big Boy.
