Were taking photos at Snappe Rock in Coolangatta, when I turned around and saw this.
3 exposure HDR, taken with Canon EO450D.
Had to take some photos of the staff where I work, they wanted it done at Snapper Rock in Coolangatta. So why not make a morning out of it - got up at 4am ready for dawn.
HDR -2 0 +2 exposures done in Photomatix. +2 exposure blended in to the HDR.
"Snapper Rocks is a small rocky outcrop on the northern side of Point Danger at the southern end of Queensland's Gold Coast. It is a famous surf break and today the start of the large sand bank known to surfers as the Superbank.
It was better known as a fishing spot (hence the name) than it was as a surf break before 1995 when the Tweed River Entrance Sand Bypassing Project (TRESBP) began pumping sand out of the river mouth and dumping it just east of Snapper Rocks. Before long a super sand bank had formed in Rainbow Bay and once the swells started hitting, local surfers realised they had one of the world's longest, and most consistent point breaks on their doorstep" (see www.snapperrocks.com/)

This father was using a remote flash and umbrella reflector to take a portrait of his daughter at Dolls Point, Sydney. He had to get mum to hold the stand as the strong breeze would have had it over and down the beach.
Trafalgar Square and two photographers in contrasting attire. I wonder if one shoots mono and the other one colour…?

I can only imagine that this must be a baby snapper? He was telling Mama something in turtle language! or maybe just giving a big yawn, as the sun was hot and was making me drowsy too! Seen Sat. at the Botanic Gardens. Spring is busting out all over.
Correction, the bottom turtle is a Red Eared Slider and the top one is a map turtle. Thanks Steve!
Riding under the streetlights on my way home from work. The "share-with-care" path is nice white concrete - a good canvas for camera-toting nocturnal commuters.
Snapper Rocks at Tweed Heads - local Bundjalung Aboriginal man celebrates his proud indigenous heritage by blessing the surf by playing his didgeridoo while overlooking the crashing waves that sweep over the rocky coastline.
A really nice touch is this Southern Railway timetable board with a full 1935 service timetable and a notice below stating that trains are suspended due to engineering works! Bravo and here's to the day the engineering works are complete.
