Juvenile snappers hiding behind the sharp spines of a sea urchn.
I'm back to muck diving, the art of finding rare, unusual, tiny and well camouflaged marine animals in sandy or seagrass habitats.
I'm on YouTube too with lots of underwater videos
One of a series of images taken on my four day visit to Prague visiting my son Dan. If you have never been to Prague and would like to see how I saw it through my lens take a look through the album. For anyone who hasn't been I highly recommend it, what a great city to visit, so much I didn't see, can't wait to visit again. I went with my little Canon M3, which was perfect for the trip but you see some very expensive camera equipment in use, I was just a happy snapper and was lucky enough to have fabulous weather for the whole trip.
This one was taken very early morning, misty before the sun broke through, trying to catch the bridge a little emptier as it is usually just packed with tour groups, entertainers and photographers.
Everyone's a photographer these days and I couldn't resist snapping this snapper in Brick Lane...just loved her colourful costume.

had a few minutes to spare so ducked down to Snapper Rocks, the site of this years Quicksilver Pro, for a look and was rewarded with a nice pool of light!
This medium-sized snapping turtle was feeding near the shoreline, and stuck his head up just as he swam through a pool of sunlight. HDR processing was used to bring the organic sheen and algae to life - it has a somewhat metalic look even in the original image. Taken at Hidden Pond Nature Center and Park, Springfield Virginia. The common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina) is a large freshwater turtle of the family Chelydridae. The snapper is an aquatic ambush hunter, capturing its prey with its beak-like jaws which are clearly seen in this image.
