tried to get closer to him but he didn't want me to

photograph of a wasp overlayed with another photograph taken on the firetrail near where i live of some leaves ..

i guess i kind of wanted to do a small series about small things. details. i want to do more of these, but i didn't start photographing until the light was almost gone. and these three images are the best i could come up with.

unfortunately, the important part isn't in focus.

This is "invisible" extra-fine appliqué thread and a remnant of the fabric I'm working with for a quilt top.

this is a wasp hanging upside down from the nest, taken on the firetrail near where i live .. i've combined the wasp with another photograph of a spider on his web ..

I like the big picture as much as the next guy. However, it seems the more I pay attention to the little things, quite often just before I step on them, the more simple beauty I discover. This shell was on the beach in Mobile Alabama. The more I looked at it, the more I liked the small simple details of life washed up on the beach.
