I prefer avoiding clichés like the plague, but these were literally falling off the bone.

I made the easiest most delicious Brussels sprouts this week. I found the recipe here: crockpot365.blogspot.ie/2010/10/very-best-brussels-sprout...

I recently became addicted to Zatarain's Jambalaya Mix. But buying processed food is not a good way for a laid off girl to save money. So I read up on the ingredients and tried making my own. It's not bad.

I'm not an expert gardener yet or I probably could have sourced all of this (except the rice and chicken) in my garden. However, I *was* able to provide marjoram, french thyme, and dried Hungarian yellow wax peppers.

It's technically not a Chicken Cushion due to the way it is arranged, but the components are the same.

UPDATE: They seem to have made the Chicken Cushions significantly smaller, and reshaped the larger ones into more of a Chicken Roll which they refer to as a Chicken Royal. That just reminds me of Burger King.

After 12 hours of slow cooking: beef chuck with onions, bay leaves, cloves and a little red wine. Riblappen!

Frying the Chicken in Butter in prep for cooking in crock pot

Mmmmm.

I felt like I should have had a salad with it: too bad I didn't have any packaged stuff (or fresh, even) on hand. Maybe next time?

And my verdict on this meal: VERY TASTY AND AMAZING.

The pork was fork-tender and the potatoes fell apart when I was scooping them out of the pot, actually. The pork was juicy and flavorful (I can't tell you how it tasted, other than "good") and the sweet potatoes were falling apart and stuff and just oh so sweet.

Corned beef and cabbage, with potatoes, of course! Slow-cooked on low all day with half a can of Guinness beer

Clam chowder homemade in the slowcooker, served with a ham & chicken sandwich with thickly sliced avocado.

Oh, and don't forget the pickles!

it would have been better if I hadn't gotten stuck at work for 11 hours

The turkey finally fit in the crockpot with a little urging. Seasoned with fresh rosemary & oregano, garlic, dijon mustard and lemon juice.

I'm going to make something like this in the crock pot... actually, probably going to make rustic chicken stew. I'll share the recipe if it turns out ok!

Baby Giraffe can't wait for the crock pot to be done.

If memory serves; I bought this in 1972. Rival bought the 1940 patent and the original company in 1970, (or '69-'70.) This is one of the originally issued models of the Crock Pot.

This has continued to work as designed for 'lo these many years.' It has crossed the country many times and is one of the first items unpacked at each new destination.

I have several newer slow cookers. Each is fine. However, when size and portion control is necessary this old warrior is called upon to do battle in the kitchen.

It's not for sale !! [[;-)
