Cacciatore is Italian for “hunter,” and it usually refers to the sauce that covers browned chicken or rabbit pieces. It is a favorite Italian dish.

This has miso and pork in it, so I figured how bad could it be? It's pretty good. I didn't manage to chop up the pork enough, but other than that--tasty.
My wife's work hours have changed and I'm trying to help her out by cooking meals. And I'm one of these "throw a bunch of cans together" guys. Here's what's for dinner tonight: 3 cups of uncooked Rotini noodles mixed with a can of mushroom soup and 1/4 can of water. Cover with Dinty Moore beef stew. Cook in crock pot for two hours. Mix in 1/3 cup sour cream. Eat. My kind of recipe (I got it off the back of the pictured 40 oz Dinty Moore can).
The KBC had a private pig roast recently, by invitation only, for their regulars. Free food and beer; gotta love it.

I ended up mixing a small can of diced fire-roasted tomatoes with some red wine vinegar, a wee bit of brown sugar, garlic, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt in the crock. I then rolled the beef shoulder roast in it, and topped it with onions and carrots. It will now marinate in the fridge overnight (the liquid almost reaches the top of the roast and I put some of it on top of it). I added frozen green beans during the last 1/2 hour.
