Mmmh, slow cooker food. I layered baby carrots, chopped potatoes, and frozen diced onions. Then plopped in a whole chicken. In a separate bowl, I mixed a package of stuffing mix, a can of cream of celery soup, and a (drained) can of mushroom slices. Fit that around the chicken, pour a can of gravy over the whole thing, cover and cook on high for 2 hours and low for 6.
Dill pickle ranch-flavoured Chex mix/bits & bites?! It can be done! Now that summer is here you can even make it in the crockpot which made it perfectly: www.suziethefoodie.com/dill-pickle-crockpot-bits-bites/
Particularly with this Eurolab 2 x 2.5L cooker!
— On the left, a cream of leek, potato, tomato and cauliflower soup;
— On the right, a curry with carrot, potato, butternut squash, cashews, tomato, and brocolli, awaiting its silken tofu.
(Seeds from the squash, drying in the background, are gonna get roasted!)

this is really an ugly photo, but it's real the meat practically fell apart after 8 hours, so tender and so much flavour! i had to be quick and just shoot it!

It's good luck in the South to make this black-eyed pea dish for New Year's Day. I whipped up a batch for John and I along with some seethed potatoes and walnut sable cookies. I love when I have time to cook.

Cooked country style pork ribs in a slow cooker all day, drained, shredded the meat, added a homemade Carolina BBQ sauce. Coleslaw on the side.
Went to Sears and bought a slow cooker today. Wow, could I be any more typically suburban now?
And also? Anyone have good recipes for slow cooker meals?
Rainy day in Sonoma. Good day to hang out by the woodstove and do some slow cooking.
But my blog fans were screaming for gratuitous shots of Salma Hayek's cleavage. I hope I fulfilled both requirements:

This is how I make chicken cacciatore.
My recipe is a blend of those I found on the internet tested, altered to, and changed in the past month where I had opportunity to work the recipe several times.

An experiment! I took a pot roast and just rubbed it down, big time, with tubes of wasabi and ginger from Naniwa. It's sitting on a bed of new golden potatoes, zucchini, yellow onion, and mushrooms (plus a splash of sesame oil). Now the entire pot is sitting in the fridge to soak in the flavor overnight, and tomorrow I'll turn it on... mmmmmm.
Well, either that or my mouth will explode upon contact.

I used this recipe: allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooker-Chicken-Tortilla-Soup/D... only I couldn't find any enchilada sauce. I also omitted the green chile peppers -- I cannot handle that much spice. Perhaps that ruins the authenticity of the soup... but I loved it so very much. It was soothing and felt like a definite comfort food. This was the first time I've ever bought sour cream and I must resist the temptation to use it more later.
