i made this pot roast in the slow cooker for like 7+ hours. i lightly cooked the pot roast in a pan with salt and pepper and then put dried cherries and berries in the bottom of the slow cooker with onions, topped with the pot roast, one can of 5oz apple juice and some all spice! it was a little sweet and sooo tender!
then roasted some baby carrots, new potatos and red onions, tossed with olive oil, rosemary, salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar
I cooked some Spicy BBQ Ribs in the slow cooker. It required for them to be in the cooker for 6-8 hours. If I would have left them in their for 8 hours, the meat would have been totally off the bone. As it was all you had to do is pick up the end and the meat slid off.

I have been making Beef Bourguignon in a slow cooker for years. Every year as the weather gets colder this recipe is one of the first I turn to.

I wish you could smell the yummy aroma coming from the slow-cooker! It was making me feel so hungry as I was busy in the kitchen right beside the flippin thing LOL Still, a bacon sarnie for lunch hit the right spot ;-)
Not sure whether this counts as a new recipe - the veg casserole with dumplings was definitely discovered in the M&S slow cooking book, although we didn't have all the veg, and it ended up being a bit of a 'throw it all in' casserole with whatever we had in the fridge plus some beans/lentils to pad it out. It wasn't anything amazing, but it worked pretty well. Megan ate it all and asked for seconds, Eli just ate the dumpling.
By the time I cooked up all 1.5 pounds of beef, I realized that all the ingredients were not going to fix into my 3-quart slow cooker and keep it below the recommended two-thirds-full mark.
So I pulled out everything, divided it in half, put the extra half in the fridge, and started over with slow cooker and only half the ingredients this time.
While I was at the grocery store last week, round steak was on sale - buy one package, get one free. Since my two new favorite hobbies are slow cooking and saving money, I decided to pick them up and then hope to find a recipe. Luckily, I found this one on allrecipes.com: allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooker-Tender-and-Yummy-Round-.... I modified it because I don't like cooked carrots, and I prefer mashed potatoes.
The prep time for this recipe was 10 minutes at most, and since I was in a hurry I decided to cook it on high for 3 1/2 hours. It turned out pretty good, but the meat would have probably been more tender if I had cooked on low according to the directions.
Another bonus - It made enough for my boyfriend and I to have dinner one night and lunch the next day!
And, the best part: this meal fed my boyfriend and I dinner, and there are plenty of leftovers.

Easy way to make great baked potatoes - recipe here: coreyrecipes.blogspot.com/2016/12/slow-cooker-baked-potat...
This came out really well and was pretty easy!
Put the tongue in the slowcooker with a chopped onion, celery, 3 cloves garlic, jalapeno, cumin, salt, a bottle of mexican beer, and enough water to cover. Set on high for ~six hours. Remove when tender and the skin pulls off easily. Pull off skin, slice, and sautee with onions and peppers.
Serve on tostadas with guacamole and other toppings.

Long overdue great slow cooker meal. Served great over a baked potato - recipe: coreyrecipes.blogspot.com/2016/12/stewed-mexican-chicken....
I would not advise making this for just yourself, but it would be great to take to a picnic or party!
Despite the recent dire news of the effects on alcohol on women, I am still going to drink my wine and eat it too. In this case, Cuban pork loin with sherry. Marinate the pork overnight with chili pepper, ground cumin, salt, pepper, lime juice, and a 1/4 cup of sherry (thus leaving lots to drink while you are prepping).
Tomorrow, I will pop the whole deal into my slower cooker (aka crock-pot) when I leave for work, and have a yummy ready to eat meal when I get home, which I will enjoy with the sherry if there is any left over after tonight.
Today's random fact - I love my slow-cooker. I can cook everything in it including dessert. I really have no need for an oven, which I am seriously considering using as an additional shoe closet. If you saw my shoe collection you would understand.
