A bee has five eyes. The two big eyes are compound eyes and they are made up of thousands of tiny lenses. Each lens sees a small part of a scene and all together, the lenses form an entire picture. The three other eyes are called simple eyes or ocelli and are very small. These eyes don’t see images but can detect light and changes in light. The ocelli help bees escape danger because if something is swooping down to attack them, the shadow of the predator alerts the bee that something is wrong and gives it time to fly away. The compound eyes together with the ocelli make it very hard to sneak up on a bee. Best viewed large.

Say that a few times an see if you can lol...
The sun sets in the west (obviously ) so you have to be up pretty early to get a sunrise at this very flat featureless part of the Lincolnshire coast but as I happen to love these chalets and hadn't got a photo of their backsides I was very pleased to photograph them in the setting sun and getting the sky and sun reflections in the second chalet from the right :))

A special thanks to all my Flickr friends and visitors, for taking the time to view and acknowledge my photography.
I would also, like to extend my thanks, to all those who place my images in their beautiful galleries, or use my images for their covers.
Additionally, I am truly humbled to receive so many thoughtful and generous testimonies. I cannot express how deeply touched and honoured I am, to find such caring and beautifully written words left on my behalf.

I once again want to dedicate a shot to the oceans of the world. No matter the color of its waters, they are in trouble. If we don't take actions to eliminate plastics, microplastics and other contaminants, the future will indeed be bleak for our oceans.
At this time of year, the sunsets here are pure joy. To be able to be right here, take some photos and then just sit here completely still in these surroundings, looking at the sky and the sunset - in gratitude. Catch life before it passes you by!
The water was so cold that Aiko came to me with the paw he is lifting in the photo.
I emptied it for water and dried and warmed it up for him.
Then he was good to go, my dear dog ❤
I love him so, sigh 🙏
Clouds are pretty cool 😄 I'm having great fun in seeing faces and other things in nature.
I think it must be Heron 😂😂
It was soo cool to walk upon
You really feel totally alone
There isn't room for anyone beside you
And nobody was behind me either, lol
Yep, crazy woman
Us Viking Ladies are like that
Not leaning on anyone
Cause then I would have fallen out in the water
Hehe
Walking my path
Enjoying
Aloneness
Not loneliness
Did I say I love life?
I was out on the rock shelf at Terrigal just after dawn when the sky decided to show off — all soft pastels and quiet colour. It was one of those mornings where the sun must have got up early just to make a point.
The rockpool, not to be outdone, mirrored the sky quite nicely too.
Simple. Beautiful. With just the right amount of smug for a sunrise ;)
Fun fact: I have a bit of an affinity with hedgehogs (must be the name;) That's not the fun fact though. Up until the 15th century hedgehogs were called "urchins". Sea urchins got their name because they looked spiny hedgehogs. Therefore ... sea urchins are ocean hedgehogs! For some reason that makes me happy. Or maybe that's the nice glass of red, cheers. Happy Easter !
PS Unicorn Dust? I don't either, just seemed appropriate for that sky ;)
Thanks kindly for any likes/comments, they are always appreciated.

"The lower 30 km of the river (from the point where the Stewiacke River meets to the mouth) is tidal and the river experiences a tidal bore twice daily, with some bores reaching up to 3 m in height at certain points along the river. Local tourism operators offer adventure seekers a chance to ride with the bore on high-horse power Zodiac Hurricanes. It is also a popular surfing spot for experienced Sea Kayakers." - Wikipedia
