The Alabama Hills outside Lone Pine, California have been the setting for many movies because the rocks have such great texture and tone. Sometimes, as in this shot, the Alabama Hills provide a pleasing symmetry with the Eastern Sierra sky.

Very fortunate to catch this scene just before the storm arrived. The sky and train color did bring us some warmness in the cold winter.

Protective bannisters on the stairs, with the the top of Cape du Couedic Lighthouse seen in the distance beyond the expanse of grass and shrubbery.
These stairs reach down past the boardwalk, on the way down to Admiral's Arch.
Something from last summer from Lake Constance. I kept toning down the sky because it was so very contrasty and had an odd mixture of blues and yellows. However, I did like the rows of vineyards pointing towards the house

There has been lots of rain and wind lately together with dull overcast days. Its so nice to see the sun even if its only fleeting. The blue sky was a bit of a bonus too!
