#mood for Winter:
I'm driving home for Christmas
Oh, I can't wait to see those faces
I'm driving home for Christmas, yea
Well I'm moving down that line
And it's been so long
But I will be there
I sing this song
To pass the time away
Driving in my car
Driving home for Christmas
It's gonna take some time
But I'll get there
Top to toe in tailbacks
Oh, I got red lights on the run
But soon there'll be a freeway yeah
Get my feet on holy ground
So I sing for you
Though you can't hear me
When I get through
And feel you near me
Driving in my car
I'm driving home for Christmas
Driving home for Christmas
With a thousand memories
I take a look at the driver next to me
He's just the same
Just the same
Top to toe in tailbacks
Oh, I got red lights all around, uh
I'm driving home for Christmas, yeah
Get my feet on holy ground
So I sing for you
Though you can't hear me
When I get through
Oh and feel you near me
Driving in my car
Driving home for Christmas
Driving home for Christmas
With a thousand memories
I take a look at the driver next to me
He's just the same
He's driving home, driving home

Ski Train at Union Station, Denver, Colorado.
(BTW, there are no mountains in Downtown Denver. The mountain in the background has been added via Photoshop.)
The Ski Train is a year round passenger railroad operated by the Ansco Investment Company, which purchased the assets of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in 1988. The train began service in 1940 and runs from Union Station in Denver, Colorado for 56 miles to the ski resort town of Winter Park, Colorado. The train's scenic route leaves Union Station and travels through northwest suburban Denver, generally parallel to South Boulder Creek, past Pinecliffe and Rollinsville. The route climbs about 4,000 feet and passes through 29 tunnels before reaching the final mountain underpass, the 6.3 mile long Moffat Tunnel. This is the highest railroad tunnel in the United States and passes under the Continental Divide. The train stops less than 100 yards from the base of the ski lifts of Winter Park Resort. There is one trip in each direction per day, with a travel time of 2 hours and 15 minutes, assuming no delays from freight rail traffic. (Wikipedia)
This is an amazing lodge with a great-looking interior. The wood and stone that have been implemented into the design give it a very natural feel. This is usually a great way to add a refreshing and relaxing tone to a room. The materials, accessories, and fireplace further add to that cozy atmosphere
The Ski Train passes Plain as they make their way west to Winter Park, CO. The weather was just beginning to clear and the tail end of a snow squall was just finishing as the train rolled by.
The ski jumping hill in Ruka, Finland. That's the venue where the ski jumping World Cup season usually begins.
My wife and I have skied every Christmas since we met. The last couple of years Christmas has been dry. So it was nice to ski powder on Christmas again, even if it was only a few inches. We've had a dry start this season so any snow is good. And it looks like we've turned the corner with a huge storm cycle just starting.

Backcountry skiing. While walking up the mountain we could see the peak closer and closer but didn't seem to be able to reach it. The dark clouds were gaining on us and we had to gain speed to get there in time.
