Our guide in Vent showed us some special tricks. But I wasn't able to imitate it.

Ski Joëring with one siberian Husky at Retordica : Plateau de Retord, Cuvéry, Ain, France

A race organized by the FFPTC, only teams of Nordic breeds (Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed and Greenland Dog) with CFI recognized standards are allowed to compete or Nordic type dogs with special agreement.

Ski Joëring or Skijoring is a sport in which one to two dogs assist a cross-country skier.

The cross-country skier provides power with skis and poles, and the dog adds additional power by running and pulling.

Today I think I will take a trip out skiing in the fine winter weather!

Hey there, I'm really impressed by my new cellphone, the camera really does its job. This one was taken on the track when we drove through a fog wall ...

We had lovely snowy and misty conditions at times and I really enjoyed the ride!

Cross-country skiing is popular in the White Mountains of Arizona, though I rarely see any young people taking up the sport. Too much exercise and not enough thrill, I suppose. Here I had to ski along the road to get to some good rolling hills.

Climbing to 'Tuc de Horno', Vielha, Aran, Catalonia, Spain.

This photo was taken Easter 2016.

Approaching Tunnel 1, the Rio Grande Ski Train marches up the Moffat Tunnel Subdivision east of Plainview, Colorado, on the morning of January 7, 2001. Pinch-hitting for ailing F40PH No. 242 on today’s train is Rio Grande GP40-2 No. 3105.

Thank you all for all your love and support, comments and awards, always appreciated and grateful ♥♥♥

Sunrise Ski Area near Greer, AZ is owned by the White Mountain Apache tribe. I took this shot from Green's Peak. At my age, I avoid downhill skiing, preferring cross country skiing instead.

Enlarge the image to see the tiny skiers on the ski slope!

This from the day I took the making of artificial snow. Very sporty people don't take the cable car up, they walk, on skis. They used to do this with fur underneath the skis, but it's all a bit more high tech now (I hope anyway).

Northern Colorado ski country.

Early March can be wonderful for enjoying skiing like it was in this photo. Sun, snow and nice tracks. This is in Halkosilta field north from Latokaski village and it is belonging to Espoo Central Park.

Trovarsi e' una fortuna

Non perdersi e' un miracolo

Non smettere mai di cercarsi e' amore

Finding yourself is a fortune Not getting lost is a miracle Never stop looking for yourself is love

On the slopes of the Cairnwell, which sits in the heart of the Glenshee Ski Centre, this bench made of old skis looks out across the steep Scottish Highlands, towards Càrn a' Ghèoidh.

This trip sees me bagging 2 more Munro's. Carn Aosda, my 22nd Munro, stands at 917 meters (3008 feet), while The Cairnwell, my 23rd Munro, stands at 933 meters (3061 feet). They do both stand at the heart of the Glenshee Ski Development, so may be not a pretty or remote as some other Munro's.
