Our guide in Vent showed us some special tricks. But I wasn't able to imitate it.

Approaching Tunnel 1, the Rio Grande Ski Train marches up the Moffat Tunnel Subdivision east of Plainview, Colorado, on the morning of January 7, 2001. Pinch-hitting for ailing F40PH No. 242 on today’s train is Rio Grande GP40-2 No. 3105.

Today was a dreary day. everything I photographed was brown and gray until I found this fence made of snow skis.. HFF

Langåskjølen nature reserve in Trondheim, Norway.

On the slopes of the Cairnwell, which sits in the heart of the Glenshee Ski Centre, this bench made of old skis looks out across the steep Scottish Highlands, towards Càrn a' Ghèoidh.

This trip sees me bagging 2 more Munro's. Carn Aosda, my 22nd Munro, stands at 917 meters (3008 feet), while The Cairnwell, my 23rd Munro, stands at 933 meters (3061 feet). They do both stand at the heart of the Glenshee Ski Development, so may be not a pretty or remote as some other Munro's.

Am i looking "Pro"?

I'm just a rookie!!! LOL!

B+W F-PRO 46 mm circular-polar filter over tiny neat Panasonic 35-100mm f/4.0-5.6 zoom, aperture fully open at 35mm. This lens fits nicely the GM1's miniature body. The only problem with the GM1 is its LCD screen which is too dark in bright sun / its lack of the viewfinder, which makes it difficult to compose. The Sedrun to Dieni Sportszug arrives at its destination in Dieni where it will unload another group of skiers for a day out on the slopes. The train is led by a 1975 built Deh 4/4 motorwagon which are planned to be retired this year just short of 50 years of service.

The eastbound Rio Grande Ski Train exits Moffat Tunnel at East Portal, Colorado, on March 21, 1997. A pair (only three built and painted for D&RGW) of Rio Grande EMD GP60s power the passenger train, led by No. 3155.

I have not put on a pair of skis in over 30 years although we live in Utah with the greatest snow on earth. We love to go sledding and make snowmen. Our winter has not provided us with lasting snow in the valley, it snows and melts within a few days so I had to take advantage of the powder in the driveway today. My daughter had these cute ski poles with her dolls' clothes, she crocheted the clothes the dino is wearing too. She has challenged me to stay working with the dinosaurs until I run out of ideas. Limits are so helpful in spurring creative ideas if you ever end up with a block you should put limits on yourself.

Would have been first in the ski queues at Glencoe Mountain if it hadn't taken so long to boil the water for coffee.

These fine ex military roads are very appropriate for short skis.
