Sketch of family on train, on way home from London

Haven't put up anything of my own work in a while. Here's some sketchbook work as a little taster to the work i'm exhibiting in the 'Hinterland Exhibition' at Centrespace, Bristol this friday.

quick sketch w/sharpie of elephant in jungle. used a pic. would of been cool to be there in person. :P

Model: Woolphie.

I did all my sketches of the 1m poses on one side of A3, and then turned over to do these sketches of the 2m poses on the other side.

There was a bit of space left on the first side, so I reserved that for the 5m sketch. As a result I was able to use the whole of this side for the 2m ones.

Animation is the simulation of real life through your perspective.. Read that over a couple times. When you’re preparing for an animation it’s extremely important to really develop your characters and make sure you have a set personality for them. Not only so your character stays accurate to his role but your also going to be drawing him/her alot so you must have a set example on what he looks like. In doing this you also get another chance to figure out what kind of style you’re going to present to your audience

This morning I got a mail of Julia Kay : what have you become ? This kick put me to work. I had not drawn faces for such a long time. Thanks Julia.

well related to mechanical engineering*(little, as i am one :) )...

for the meaning-

1.

there is enormous potential in all of us...

but quite often diverted and distributed and usually with no positive out come...

just like a flowing river...literally infinite energy flowing... making it's way through the soil...

but channelize it through a turbine *(the strange figure in center) and what we get--->Electricity....>>>we are all highly creative just need direction.

2.

can be seen as every man has a darker side and a brighter one as well.

Darker being wild, destructive and unorganized while brighter silent, creative, organized and stable. This fight between bright and dark is what defines creativity...

for the rest-

well still looking...

A ball point pen sketch I did quite a while ago but didnt get round to uploading.

Back to airport, one more sketch, where I was invited to sketch this lady, her husband asked me how much will I charge (money), in return I said, “Only blessings and love will do”. Later, I shared my sketch and the couple were very happy to receive it, that’s what I called “Exploring the world through sketches...”

Painted the top sketch at annandale canal. Didn't come out as good - never does!

Before you make the model, you make this "squares", first, with a particular proportion...

after that, you shape or smooth the squares...see my next scan picture...

after smoothing the squares, the model/doll now ready to be "filled" with the dress...see my next scan, too...

erase uneeded lines so the design looks clear...

just contact me if you need more information about this...i'm not a professional myself...it's my hobby: to design and to sew...both are equally great!...

fashion design like this is not important for me until i tried to make a shirt and i imagined it wrong about how it will fall on the body...strange isn't it? it's my design but seems i misunderstood it...but really, i did...the blouse didn't turn out well at first and then at second...(^.^)...that's why i took the course...

really, it helps!...with the proper proportion, i can see more clearly how my design will be turned out if i sew it...it also helps me in deciding on what spot the neckline will fall, and how i'm going to make the pattern...

now, for some design, before i sew it, i always make designs like this...not just drawing the clothes (technical drawing), but the doll is included!

happy fashion designing, all

Wire sculpture evoking dripping tree sap. Curved around an invisible tree-cone shap and mounted to the wall. The wire has a copper patina over steel and copper wire. Copper wire did not receive oxidation, and remains reflective.

I created a ruleset for how wire would be wrapped or attached, and which gauges were to be used for which purposes, and also whether copper or steel wire was to be used. I made sure to break all the rules at least once.

before I passed out I decided to try my hand at some lowbrow art. here is the sketch/study
