One of the options a made for a notebook cover I was comissioned to do, unfortunately, it was not accepted.
Uma das opções que eu fiz para uma capa de caderno a qual fui convidado a fazer, infelizmente essa não foi aceita.
One of the things I really love about sketches in general is the way they – by necessity of time, circumstance, and place – seem to become a sort of shorthand for much more complex ideas and details. I’ve always appreciated the brevity some artists have, the way they can coerce a single line into speaking volumes, into communicating so much. Very occasionally I’ll see a hint of that evident in one of my sketches, but more frequently than not they’re just amused scribblings of the moment.

I did this sketch when I was 18 years old - that's more than 40 years ago. It was based on a sketch by Peter Paul Rubens of his young son. I found my mom still has it although it's put away for safe keeping but not shown. No idea why.
I wasn't a particularly good artist but I was encouraged to enter it into the art show at the local fall fair & it won first prize. I can see lots of flaws in it.
While I do have some artistic ability, it's funny that my heart isn't in it. I'd rather express my creativity other ways. Perhaps if I'd had some training & had an idea how to use various media, it would've been different. What I wanted to paint or sketch was beyond my knowledge of how to accomplish it.
Any time I've done art pieces that I really liked & was pleased with, I gave them away. Wish I had photos of them at least. I still do some sketching but not much - more like my cats, a flower or leaf, my foot in front of me, stuff like that.
Little doodle for miss lunabee
She likes bees :)
After the first doodle I thought "wait a minute, in real life, bee's cannot be that big", so the second sketch is more accurate :)
Did a line sketch while waiting.

It's the first time I've seen the working parts of an etch-a-sketch.
It's a "pocket" version, the screen is but 3X2 inches.
I wonder if this counts as transparent screen? I think so.
