Another drawing I decided to post. It's not as detailed as my other one. Also, the meadow is just about finished. I'll probably post good pictures tomorrow. There isn't enough light right now and the flash doesn't look good.
One Sunday, the day of the first football match of Euro 2012, St Roch neighborhood.
Un dimanche, le jour du premier match foot de l'Euro 2012, quartier St Roch.
Taken from a very rough study statue of Laocoön And Sons (wrestling the serpent-last dated 1506). Although i grasped the basic shape right, somehow i missed out a a few fine details. I will sketch an improve version of this soon!
The drawing behind the embroidery.
I don't really like the drawing -- too much going on. I prefer how the embroidery is more simple, not getting carried away with shading, etc. I am trying to get better about showing my process, however.
After getting the composition down and all the agents in place, I drew over the rough pencil sketches on my Cintiq a more refined sketch - this was then printed out in greyscale and I drew over that the final pencil lines for each of the agents. They are all drawn separately, in order for me to have the freedom of moving them around, just in case.
If you look at the final, you can see that I changed the hair for two of the agents, as they had since changed their hairstyles. No biggie!
Evening Sketch: Boutonnet Tram station, control of tickets, 12 controllers supported by three police officers ... show of force and somehow fear also...
Technically, I took out a pencil, well, that's not the same .. with the coloring, it came out a little clearer, but then I was stuck, not knowing how to push them further, so I left as it was.
I sketched this picture for my shop logo during class yesterday and then last night I turned it into a vector image making it my new logo :)
*Logo created with the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator CS5
This latest batch is actually just warm up sketches done in a figure drawing class. Most of what was produces was not worth showing, but I've gone through and grabbed some that came out really well and honestly, for 5 or 10 minute sketches, I'm pretty proud of these.
diagrams, sections, and details of renzo piano's beyeler foundation in switzerland (just over the border from loerrach, germany)
I’ve been taking a break from the large piece to do some doodling. It always helps me recharge and it gives me a fresh outlook when I step back up to the painting. Plus, my sketches differ quite a bit from my usual painting style, so it’s refreshing to do something different. Some of these characters, I’d definitely like to redo and add some color to them. That’ll probably be a future sketchbook entry.
