This is when i tried to learn something from the sketches drawn by Mikkel Frost from Cebra.

靠盃,我連續搭錯兩班車

These are the first proper drawings I have done in ... uh ... ages (7 years?). Inspired by urbansketchers.org, I got myself a proper sketchbook and some Faber-Castell artist pens in dark sepia, and started sketching. After a somewhat unhappy start, I produced these two quick sketches this afternoon. I did the one on the right at my dining table, while I was waiting for my lunch to finish cooking in the oven. The drawing on the left was done later in the afternoon and shows the view from my kitchen window. (We don't really have monstrously large birds here in Frankfurt ... just sayin'.)

Took a break from homework at the Greenbean in Seattle, WA.

This sketch turned out to be harder than I thought it would because there were WAY more angles to get the right perspective on than I thought.

Enero 2014. Galaxy Note.

A bit of sketching to "unwind" after writing a good bit on Chapter 2 of my thesis tonight. Gave myself 15 minutes to sketch and write about an animal or group of animals starting with an A. First animal to pop to mind was the Aplacophorans, a class of the Mollusc phylum. I had my recent background research from the Mollusc playing cards ( sciencdecks.com) fresh in my head which definitely made it easier. Guess I need to do a blog post for Science Decks about these weird animals.

I really like the A that is in the upper left corner of the page. I might just have to make a font face based on those lines. Of course coming up with a lowercase set that matches but is legible… always a pain. Flashbacks to type design class at BSU!

Biro futuristc sketch.

From an early age I was always sketching and doodling cars and futuristic scenes. I carried on this 'habit' during all my early jobs. These are some doodles I did while working as a call centre agent in the mid 1990's. Something to keep my mind going.

The doodles are mostly in Biro so some of the pages have turned yellow with age.

drawn without looking at the page, only at the model

A sketch of the evening, a small group of "indignés" decided to live in one of the huge planetrees of the Esplanade. The police do not find any legal text to dislodge them, everyone can live in a tree ... It has now been over a month, but it will not last, the City Council finally found a legal pretext to make them go down them "danger to themselves! ". The upper sketch shows the tree seen from a terrace, but you need to do a head rotation of 45 ° counterclockwise.

On June 22, they are still there :)

I like to use quick sketches during the early phases to portray concepts to the Owner. In this case, the entry to the home is defined with contemporary planters, offering repetition and color in the entry sequence.

Octavio Paz, 1973: "Today... modern art is beginning to lose its power of negation. For some years now its rejections have been repetitious; rebellion has turned into procedure, criticism into rhetoric, transgression into ceremony. Negation is no longer creative. I am not saying that we are living the end of art: we are living the end of the idea of modern art."

I sat across from these two people as they met for the first time. they discussed their French heritage and living in France and the US.

Sorry about the cruddy pic.

Drawn in Science class today, just for the heck of it. Thought it came out quite nice.
