My last spread on the train today. I got busted again by the girl on the left. She just gave me a deadpan stare and I just kept on sketching her.
Adebanji Alade is a British artist who does a lot of subway sketching as well and he winks at the person he's sketching when he's caught. Winking is not my style. Maybe tipping my hat at them...which means I have to start wearing a hat.
View of my mini city garden with the suspended shed on the left, and mini shed leaning against the house on the right. Not very readable, but for me, almost every detail is there.
Vue de mon mini jardin de ville, avec cabanon suspendu à gauche, et mini cabanon appuyé contre la maison à droite. Pas très lisible, mais pour moi, presque chaque détail y est.

Evening sketch, it was very cold and I had taken refuge in the VW parked in my neighborhood. The view was not great, and I wondered if I would not go home without drawing when my eyes fell on the reflections on the hood of a car parked next to the VW car. I had my topic. I finished the drawing on the spot and added pencil memos for the colors.
Sepia ink in Moleskine I drew in pencil, than with Falcon. I love this pen, just to screw and unscrew the cap fills me with joy.
As with other birds, once you start looking at them there is more and more to see and so many different types of pelicans. They also feature strongly in mythology and culture - they can represent creatures that accompany those passed away to the other side; they are also very self sacrificial creatures - in times of shortage they can peck at their chests to draw blood and feed their young. Amazing creatures; beautiful too.
Sketch and watercolor of parts of a big leaf maple for an assignment in a sketching and watercolor class from Jane LaFazio.
Auxiliary sketchnote during the 2013 IDSA International Conference, Chicago, IL. August 21-24, 2013.
A trip in the nearby country side of Montpellier, the subject of an almost rainy Sunday morning: power line towers and power plants, often in open country, our cities under perfusion. Not a very cheerful subject nor treatment ... It was a very moist and ready to rain morning, I took advantage of the studio in the VW.
First sketch of a drawing I started a week ago. I have a day job so it took two weekends to,from mishap it. More pictures will follow showing how it progressed.
Just roughly sketched this one night while looking at photographs, but ended up scanning and coloring it regardless. This isn't the final I've planned to submit to 'Draw Serge!', but I like it anyway... so here it is
Sketching at the Lego council now. The rally is against the NE development of HK. If the project is approved, the Hong Kong-China border will be effectively dissolved, leaving Hong Kong defenceless against any form of China's aggression.
a chinese lion sketch based on the work of hokusai (2) (staedtler calligraph duo marker 3002 on recycled sketchbook paper, 6/30/2007)
I've been daydreaming about this set all week. Today I finally got down to sketch it and sort of figure out the pattern I will have to draft.
I love "Annie" the musical and the movie. It's a dear part of my childhood, and I think this set captures that. A sort of glamorous Annie.
I have to find something floaty for the skirt.

Not always flattering, usually quick little sketches. See more here: sketchaway.wordpress.com/2015/09/25/flattering-portraits/
