Progress on my 1:18 Darth Vader sculpt - still testing the "soft goods" and was able to aquire real chain for the cape! The helmet is a completed two part cast - ready to be painted. Still have a bit more to do with the body but think Vader should be completed soon! Here is a shot showing the articulation.

Completed Sian Jeisel from the Dark Horse comic series - Star Wars: Republic. The figure is 3.75" high and sculpted using Aves FIXIT two-part epoxy and painted using Floquil Acrylics. Visit sithfire.blogspot.com/ for additional details.

An update to my ultimate Darth Vader - I have completed the body sculpt and have added a coat of black paint to the form but haven't added shading nor any details yet. My main objective right now is to create three Vader helmets, each having a distinct look to the episode they appeared in (A New Hope, Empire and Jedi) The helmet for Empire is less of a combat version and more of a Commanders - Bold, Strong and Intimidating. Strong lines and a higher dome. This is one of the unpainted versions of the sculpt- I will not see the changes needed till after it has been painted. Once I have the look down, the only difference I see with the other two would be the shine and shape of the dome piece. After I have finalized all three, I will go back and create a helmet that can be broken down into the three components. After that, sculpts of Vader's head to fit the helmets, and possibly additional articulation to the body. So I have a looonnngg way to go :)

Added more to the head reconstruction, as well as the other shoulder and upper arm. Close to making a casting of the head then I will continue.

These were one of the additional costumes you could purchase seperately after the initial release of the original Force Unleashed game. This will not be an easy figure to create - look forward to seeing it's progression.

I hope these early images show you how much effort goes into creating these figures - probably the most difficult part of building one of these is the early stages, creating a working armature that will allow the articulation I want as well as support the sculpt work I intend to apply.

I have began building up the chest and torso of Savage, added the additional shoulder and more detail to the head (the two small horns on either side).

My main objective right now is to create three Vader helmets, each having a distinct look to the episode they appeared in (A New Hope, Empire and Jedi). The helmet for ROTJ is more Royalty, polished to perfection yet weaker and more vulnerable than the other two...which fits with the storyline. Got a way to go with this one- again, I think the eye pieces need to be larger. Once I have the look down, the only difference I see with the other two would be the shine and shape of the dome piece. Completed Jedi Master Luke Skywalker as seen in issue #3 of Star Wars Invasion by Dark Horse Comics. Luke is in command of Republic forces sent to the planet Rychel in order to repel the invading forces of the Yuuzhan Vong.

The figure was mostly sculpted in Aves Epoxy FIXIT sculpt using a plastic articulated armature. The forearms and hands have been recasted from original parts. The head originalted from a Legacy Snowspeeder Luke figure, casted in wax and completly retooled and refined adding additional markings to the face, age lines, a lower brow, hair and ears...I also strengthened the jaw. The figure measures 3.75" in height. Painted using Floyquil Acrylics by testors.

Additional work on the upper chest and shoulders of Savage. I added the three frontal horns...although some adjustments will be needed because they appear to be too large...

Straying from the path he has sturggled to hold true, Dass Jennir arrives on Telerath. Unbeknownst to Jennir, his destiny with the living force is about to be revealed and his burdened conscience wiped clean....

Dass Jennir is a favorite character of mine from the Star Wars Dark Horse Expanded Universe.

My apologies for taking so long to complete this piece...as with all my work, I never center my full attention on just one project, always a bit at a time, tabling and returning to the subject when the inspiration hits.

This is a 1:18th scale figure - fully articulated with all the basic movements and can be posed in many postions like other factory made figures...mostly when his cowl is removed.

Both figures sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt and painted using Floyquil Acrylics.

From the Dark Horse comic series Knights of the Old Republic, written by John Jackson Miller, comes my completed Zayne Carrick as he appeared in part four of Commencement.

Sculpt progress on the Egg Layer Xenomorph. Aliens: Defiance (Dark Horse Comics). 1:18 scale.

Been a crazy couple weeks with the Holidays ramping up and office work to be completed...but things are slowly getting back to normal and I finally had some time to complete one of the hands to the Egglayer Xenomorph.

I haven't sculpted many hands so it's a fun challenge and allows me to accumulate some teachable moments through trial and error. What doesn't kill you will make you stronger right?

Elongated fingers are creepy so I may have slightly drifted from the comic reference material a tad but I think it will add to the finished figure. Sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt, I have included a before and after shot for those interested, as well as a scale shot for the curious.

I will sculpt the second hand in the same dynamic fashion along with a neutral set of hands similar to the smaller Big Chap I did a few years back.

May be my last update for the new year? Not sure. Anyway, thank you all for your continued support! I hope to bring much more to the custom hobby next year. 2019 was a struggle to get things moving but I battled through it.

I hope all of you are enjoying holiday festivities and have a wonderful New Year 2020!!!!

Hope you enjoyed the update! Talk soon! More to come!!!

My sculpt of Darth Maleval as seen in the Dark Horse comic Star Wars Legacy. Fully sculpted and painted using Aves FIXIT and Testors Floyquil paints. Fully articluated, Approx. 5.125 inches High. - In scale to the Hasbro Star Wars 3.75 inch figures.

From the Dark Horse comic series Knights of the Old Republic, written by John Jackson Miller, comes my completed Zayne Carrick as he appeared in part four of Commencement.

Big, heavy and well worn, Zayne's suit has been sculpted and painted to appears to be a mix of woven material, leather and a lightweight metal alloy which includes a working removable helmet and PlSS (Primary Life-Support Subsystem) backpack.

Yep! Making another Deliah Blue frame! Not sure what outfit she will appear in yet but should start woking on the body sculpt here soon.

Here's some of the final adjustments to the Hudson sculpt (NECA scale) before it goes to a mold bath. I think I'll paint up a sample and see how it looks - at that point, if any further adjustments are needed, the piece will be cast in wax and adjusted further. FIXIT only allows you to go so far before it begins to fight back. I feel if I'm not dead on I'm very close to the target.

Sculpt progress on Zhora (Dancer) - Blade Runner - 1:18 scale. Finished sculpting the arms and chest, made adjustments to the arm length and am in the process of thinning out the shoulders. Her body sculpt is almost complete. Next are the pasties and glitter...and my question to myself would be, should I sculpt the glitter?...not all of it mind you but some of the areas just to give a texture. I think I'll give it a go while working on the head sculpt. Still making some adjustments to the body as well as Rachael's body frame...still debating what version I will be making of Rachael first....I have ideas. More about that soon. #bladerunner #zhora #nexus6 #replicant #sculpture #joannacassidy

Happy Birthday to #RutgerHauer

Completed the sculpt work on my first version of Roy Batty - Blade Runner - 1:18 scale. Like the Deckard figure posted earlier, had to go back and make some adjustments to the mid-torso cut, shoulders and elbows. Aves FIXIT is a brilliant product but is unforgiving once cured!

Completed the sculpt of the coat and gave the figure a little more in the height department. More work on Batty to come - I imagine a few more versions of him I would like to do...#roybatty #bladerunner #replicant #rutgerhauer

Additional images of my New Republic Shocktroopers - Each of the four in different stages of completion. The one picyures being the closest.

**UPDATE** Completed the forearms and added the first layer of sculpt to the upper legs. The lower abdomen and back still need some work. The arms are maxxed out on articulation - swivel/hinge joints to the the wrists, swivel joint on the forearm and the elbow/shoulder are ball joints. This headsculpt is similar to the "Korriban" version but with facial armor sculpted to the jawline - this reflects his appearance in the "Hope" trailer as he commanded Imperial/Sith forces in the sacking of Alderaan.

Darth Malgus from the upcoming Bioware game Star Wars: Old Republic. You've seen this dark lord in the "Hope" trailer - he will have alternate damaged body armor and an alternate head featuring the respirator seen in the "Deceived" trailer.

Similar to the scene where Vader looks on as his son is being tormented by the Emperor - seconds before he realizes who he truley is.

Nearing completion of my four sculpted New Republic Shock Troopers from Star Wars Invasion. A new idea I've been considering, removable helmets...and I think I may have it down :) Also in the process of sculpting ammo packs, adding other weapons etc to the finished soldiers. More to come...

From the Dark Horse comic series Knights of the Old Republic, written by John Jackson Miller, comes my completed Zayne Carrick as he appeared in part four of Commencement.

My first diorama (or playset I like to call it )- The Legacy Sith Temple - Inspired by the Dark Horse comic series Star Wars Legacy. It's under construction and when finished will be multiple levels of Sith architecture with power doors and various ancient Sith columns/sculpture.

This is my UPDATED working sculpt of the Twi'lek mandalorian from Knights of the Old Republic - I have resculpted the neck, upper torso, shoulders, waist, ammo belt, helmet and shoulder pads. There will be several lekku which will be interchangeable. Need to add additional ammo packs, holsters and blade sheaths.

My main objective right now is to create three Vader helmets, each having a distinct look to the episode they appeared in (A New Hope, Empire and Jedi) The helmet for ANH is more of a combat ready version, dulled out and worn. Sculpt progress on the Newborn - Alien: Resurrection - 1:18 scale. Sculpt using Aves FIXIT Sculpt from Aves Studio LLC.

Looks kind like a bust doesn't it...not a bad idea. Still, it's only the buildup of the upper torso. I will be sculpting detail once a needled it down a bit more. Then will come the lower abdomen, arms. legs etc.

The upper torso and head will be one piece. Just don't have the tech available to create an articulated neck that works with this sculpt. If anything it would have been a rubber sheath that would drape over and articulated frame.

Different expressions are also in the works. Sculpting tails for the other xenos at this time and a tongue for this beast.

More to come!!! #alien #alienresurrection #newborn #ripley8 #clone #sculpture #miniature #avesfixitsculpt #avesstudio

My completed sculpt of Shado Vao - this guy took awhile to complete, went through a few revisions. He will include two additional head sculpts - one which is still being sculpted. Will be interesting on how I keep paint from getting on the soft goods :)

Sculpt update on the "Egg Layer" Xenomorph - Aliens: Defiance. 1:18 scale. Based on the artwork by T-Rex Jones (Tristan Jones) for Dark Horse Comics.

I've never been happy with my head sculpt of the creature...it's always been a little off from the art Tristan created. The other day, I reworked the head sculpt once more, adding a thicker, longer jaw bone, adding some meat to the cranium and shortening the winged flaps on both sides of the frontal section. I also pushed the jaw back a bot giving the creature a slight overbite.

Much happier with the look now and should be even happier once the tendons surrounding the mouth are sculpted in.

Shaped the wire for the new hand...already began the sculpt of the fingers which will be updated soon.

I've brought down another piece to the workbench...it's been awhile and hope to get some new sculpt progress made soon. #spacejockey

Thanks for looking!! More to come!

work in progress images of the sisters with focus on the head sculpts. I have completed sculpting one of them so far. The other will be slightly different, with an identical facial sculpt but altered hair braid. Although the the facial sculpts are identical, I will apply different paint schemes to differentiate between the two. You'll notice one is shorter than the other...this is of course intentional. I plan on retooling the hips and legs for better articulation...not happy with how they work with the sculpt currently.
