Here's Jennir with the cowl removed completely - the cowl is a seperate sculpted piece made from the FIXIT epoxy. This material is incredible to work with - no limitations to what you can do with it. Props to Aves!
Paint progress on the Newborn - 1:18 scale - Alien: Resurrection. Musée Miniature et Cinéma piece for director Jean-Pierre Jeunet and the CARO / JEUNET expo.
Working on the first couple layers of the face, eyes, mouth. Very fleshy at this stage - want to highlight it out a bit with some aged whites or even lighter tans with a hint of greens running through it. Will begin moving toward the back of the head and neck over the next day or so.
Difficult for me to work on this piece all in one day due to my work and home schedule so I'm doing the best I can- Living for a quiet weekend. To have more time to paint this and much more.
Hope you enjoy the works in progress... #aliens #alien #newborn #painting #sculpture #customactionfigure #miniature #caro_jeunet
Here are the Tonnika Sisters completed head sculpts - both hair styles differ as was in the movie. I will complete the body sculpt and begin working on the costume details. I am also rolling around the idea of doing two additional head sculpts of the sisters as one appeared in the Clone Wars animated program - just an image shown briefly in the jedi library but with a hair style much different to what is seen in A New Hope.

Completed 1:18 scale, 4.25" tall sculpt of Darth Malgus - Sith Lord from the Lucasarts/Bioware MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Figure is a complete sculpt using a custom articluated frame as it's armature. The 8 different heads have all been sculpted and hand painted - each depicting a window of time in the life of Malgus and inspired by the cinematic trilogies created by Blur Studios: Return, Hope and Deceived.

All armor is hand sculpted and original. The chest and left shoulder armor are removable and can be replaced with "battle damaged" armor as an alternate. Hood is a sculpted piece and works along side the soft goods cape which is an altered piece from a store bought VOTC Darth Vader.
Lightsaber is hand sculpted, casted in plastic. Saber does not light up. Bean is removable from hilt.
Sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt and hand painted using Testors Polly Scale and Floquil acrylics.
The long tail of the beast - Alien: Isolation - :18 scale. Assembling and sculpting the alien from the Creative Assembly game. The tail is twice as long as the 79 beastie - just took the original tail and doubled the length. Currently it is hard plastic...hope to make a bendy tail from it soon. Ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, torso, hips, knees etc.....similar to the 79 Alien I'm finishing up. Sculpting the new lower legs that are similar to the runner (dog) alien in Alien3 so it's a good introduction to what awaits me when I continue to build that particular beast. As always, I take more image than is needed - just love working with this fellow lol! #alien #alienisolation #creativeassembly #bigchap #giger #xenomorph #sith_fire30 #nostromo
Completed Jedi Master Luke Skywalker as seen in issue #3 of Star Wars Invasion by Dark Horse Comics. Luke is in command of Republic forces sent to the planet Rychel in order to repel the invading forces of the Yuuzhan Vong.
The figure was mostly sculpted in Aves Epoxy FIXIT sculpt using a plastic articulated armature. The forearms and hands have been recasted from original parts. The head originalted from a Legacy Snowspeeder Luke figure, casted in wax and completly retooled and refined adding additional markings to the face, age lines, a lower brow, hair and ears...I also strengthened the jaw. The figure measures 3.75" in height. Painted using Floyquil Acrylics by testors.

**UPDATE** Completed the forearms and added the first layer of sculpt to the upper legs. The lower abdomen and back still need some work. The arms are maxxed out on articulation - swivel/hinge joints to the the wrists, swivel joint on the forearm and the elbow/shoulder are ball joints. Due to the damage Malgus received to his jaw, throat and neck during the Aldreean campaign, a special mask had to be worn for protection. This sculpt (not completed - additional details need to be applied) reflects his appearance during the "Deceived" trailer as he commanded Imperial/Sith forces in the sacking of Coruscant.
Darth Malgus from the upcoming Bioware game Star Wars: Old Republic. You've seen this dark lord in the "Hope" trailer - he will have alternate damaged body armor and an alternate head featuring the respirator seen in the "Deceived" trailer.
Sculpt progress on the Egg Layer Xenomorph. Aliens: Defiance (Dark Horse Comics). 1:18 scale.
Been a crazy couple weeks with the Holidays ramping up and office work to be completed...but things are slowly getting back to normal and I finally had some time to complete one of the hands to the Egglayer Xenomorph.
I haven't sculpted many hands so it's a fun challenge and allows me to accumulate some teachable moments through trial and error. What doesn't kill you will make you stronger right?
Elongated fingers are creepy so I may have slightly drifted from the comic reference material a tad but I think it will add to the finished figure. Sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt, I have included a before and after shot for those interested, as well as a scale shot for the curious.
I will sculpt the second hand in the same dynamic fashion along with a neutral set of hands similar to the smaller Big Chap I did a few years back.
May be my last update for the new year? Not sure. Anyway, thank you all for your continued support! I hope to bring much more to the custom hobby next year. 2019 was a struggle to get things moving but I battled through it.
I hope all of you are enjoying holiday festivities and have a wonderful New Year 2020!!!!
Hope you enjoyed the update! Talk soon! More to come!!!

My 1:18 scale, 4.5" tall Furlag sculpt is complete. The head is a completly original sculpt. The figures body is also original and is sculpted over a custom created, articluated frame. I used Aves FIXIT for the sculpt and casted the head in plastic. Furlag has 14 points of articulation. Hand painted using Testors Polyscale (Floquil) acrylic paints. A very unique species in the Star Wars universe...
From Wookipedia - "Furlag was a small-time bounty hunter with large, batlike ears. Operating during the height of the Galactic Empire, he was not well-known, but often worked with other prominent bounty hunters, such as Zuckuss and 4-LOM. He, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM were subcontracted by fellow hunter Skorr on Ord Mantell during the early Galactic Civil War in the hunt for a group of prospective Rebels, then again later with 4-LOM and Zuckuss as well as several other bounty hunters including the Trandoshan Bossk to attempt to pry Han Solo's carbonite-encased body from Boba Fett."
Unfortunately Furlag underestimated Boba Fett and met his end being sucked through and open airlock shaft into deep space.
Completed Sian Jeisel from the Dark Horse comic series - Star Wars: Republic. Alongside Sian is an older sculpt of Quinlan Vos I completed a couple years ago! Sian is 3.75" high and sculpted using Aves FIXIT two-part epoxy and painted using Floquil Acrylics. Visit sithfire.blogspot.com/ for additional details.

Sculpt progress on the Newborn - Alien: Resurrection. 1:18 scale work in progress using Aves FIXIT Sculpt by Aves Studio LLC.
Taking small steps but the head sculpt is coming along. Already have to make some adjustments to an eye that's slightly lower than the other and a bit too deep into the socket. Most of the time that would be a major pain working with cured epoxy but I don't think so this time around....famous last words LOL!
I'm liking it so far. Will slowly begin to look more recognizable with each update. Looking forward to making progress with this piece. More to come! #alien #resurrection #sculpture #newborn #miniature #avesstudio

I've read that Aurra still lives during the time of the New Republic..in her 90s but still looking as performing as she appeared during the clone wars. She was an assassin given the nickname "Nashtah". Since I have no visual record of "Nashtah", I will have to use some imagination. Her basic features will remain the same, but appearance and costume will be different. Two head sculpts are planned - one being the "traditional" appearance we are all used to, as well as an alterate using a little creative license.

A very rough draft of Vader's head sculpt - Anakin Skywalker. He is being modeled after the Sideshow 1:1 bust - 1:1 to 1:18 - talk about a scale down!! The sculpt will be totally seperate from the rest of the helmet armor and will be ball jointed.

Sculpt progress on the Alien Warrior - 1:18 scale - ALIENS 86. Continuing with the sculpt build of the upper torso and I'm happy with how it's turning out. It's a slow process and many have asked why...well,for one, I'm using epoxy that has a four hour cure rate and most significantly I only have a couple hours in the evenings to work on it and even then not every evening...if this was a full time gig the warrior would be completed in no time. More updates to come! #alien #aliens #warrior #xenomorph #alienday
Sculpt progress on Zhora Salome - Taffy's Bar Dancer - Blade Runner - 1:18 scale.
IGNORE THE FACIAL SCULPT - For placement only. Haven't begun sculpting her likeness yet.
I have been spending the past couple (very late) evenings sculpting the body. Not complete yet - obviously - but wanted to get some images out there to show the progress. The figure will represent Joanna Cassidy's character Zhora, first appearing in Taffy's Bar as a burlesque dancer. The character's costume is sequence and strategically placed pasties so it's important the form/proportions of the figure works with the character. Adjustments are being made constantly as the sculpt progresses. The figure will not require multiple points of articulation unlike other figures I will be working on including Zhora's alternate "badass" persona.
Not bad seeing that this time last week the figure was nothing more that a bare frame. More progress to come!!! #zhora #replicant #joannacassidy #sculpture #avesstudio #FIXIT
Sculpt work is close to completion for the Arena Combat version of starkiller. Completed the soft goods application as well as the belt and satchel. Just some minor details to add then it will be off to painting! :)

I have completed the sculpt to this version of Starkiller from The Force Unleashed 2 - Arena Combat Gear. Next the figure will be primed then painted. Figure is in 1:18 scale sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt - a two part epoxy. Also includes casted materials and fabric.
**UPDATE** - Here are the sisters close to having the frame sculpting completed - I raised the hips on the one and finished sculpting the lower legs on the other. You'll notice that one is slightly shorter than the other...very happy with the differences. Each a unique figure.
Painting time!!! Gotta get myself into the mood - a few days late for Alien Day but with my work pretty much everyday is Alien Day lol! #painting #miniature #alien #alienday #nostromo
Some more "unrefined" detail work at 1:18 scale....Unrefined because I haven't gone back to clean up the curves and sharpen edges yet. Serious detailing in such a small space...I admire those that can add detailing to scales even smaller than this!! A bigger reveal with my next blog update..delayed a week but will be up soon :)
Here's a work in progress shot of my Mon Calamari Bounty Hunter - based on the concept art from Star Wars Galaxies. Head is an original sculpt and is complete, the body is still a work in progress. More about this guy in my nexy blog update. I have in mind many more Mon Cal characters that will be in the works soon. Stay Tuned :)

Sculpt update on the Praetorian "Egg Morpher" Xeno from ALIENS: Defiance (Dark Horse Comics) - 1:18 scale. Sculpting the Big Chap body (ALIEN 79) once again but in a larger scale - some of the details completed to the back making room for the piping coming up soon. The rib cage will be the next step in completing the upper body. Building up the lower torso as well.
Artist Tristan Jones, the creator of this particular beast, just completed a commission piece of the Praetorian...wow <3 Makes me think about going back and sculpting those teeth again. The smaller teeth looks soooo creepy....gotta do it. Beautiful work Tristan!
