An earlier custom of Cade Skywalker from the Dark Horse comic series Star Wars: Legacy.

Created early 2009

1:18 scale - approx. 3.75".

Portions sculpted using Aves FIXIT

Painted using Floyquil Acrylics

I did some casting to build a couple of corridor walls for deck A of the Nostromo. These two corridor walls are full resin casts and are about 90% complete in build - need to add a control panel or two as well as a few additional tubes/wire. Everything you see in these images are cast pieces from molds that came from scratch builds (for exception of the Parker and Brett figures). I'm very close to completing all corridors leading from the galley of the ship. All I need to do it create the flooring....which means some laser work is about to go out soon. #alien #nostromo #sith_fire30

Some sculpt work on a Star Wars related figure! Dass Jennir with Steed. Star Wars: Dark Times (Dark Horse Comics) - 1:18 scale. Work on the beast adding detail to the head, sculpting the tail (not detailed yet) and working out the balance of the figure. For Jennir I complete the covered version of the head sculpt adding a magnet to the top of the head which will hold the hat in place. ‪#‎starwars‬ ‪#‎darkhorse‬ ‪#‎longlivethetrueeu‬ ‪#‎dassjennir‬ ‪#‎darktimes‬ ‪#‎sith_fire30‬

Finished building and sculpting Amanda Ripley's backpack and motion tracker. Pack is held to the back by a magnet. Tracker will have a decal to show tracking. 1:18 scale - Alien: Isolation #alienisolation #amandaripley #sith_fire30

My favorite head sculpt of the 8 head lot - LOL! And it doesn't even appear in the cinematic trailer trilogies...well, mostly. Darth Malgus as he may have appeared leading up to the events to the sacking of Alderaan...which didn't go so well. I'm using the same rage sculpt as the acolyte version but added the face guards and reworked the paint sculpt. I highlighted the eyes a touch in photoshop for a dramtic look - if you haven't figured it out by now - he's pissed!

Sculpt progress on the "Dog" alien from ALIEN3 - 1:18 scale. Began sculpting the teeth last night. I still need to add some length and sharpness to the canines of the creature but I was more focused on the lips and gum line as well as the spacing for each tooth this go around.

ALIEN '79' - 1:18 scale - The Beast. Plastic castings of the upper and lower torso complete. Head sculpt a work in progress. I realizise however that I forgot to add some additional tubes to the lower torso so it will be back to the lab again while I am in the process of sculpting the legs. The lower torso is ball jointed but not as much motion as I would have liked. May try the revoltech joint option or attempt to customize my own.

Wall panel build to a sectional of corridor which leads to the Nostromo bridge. The "CRTs" as I like to call them, are cast pieces that will be "greeblied up" before having molds and cast made. Alien trivia - for these parts they literally took the backs of old television sets and stuck them to the walls then dressed them up. ...#alien #nostromo #modelbuilding #smoothon #sith_fire30

Some detailed pieces made from styrene for the Nostromo Cafeteria corridor - 1:18 scale. Coffee cup holders and a control panel which will be cast several times since it is found practically ALL OVER THE GALLEY!!! No way am I going to scratch build one at a time. Examples attached. #nostromo #alien #galley #sith_fire30

Completed 1:18 scale, 5" tall articulated sculpt of one half of the Moomo Brothers bounty hunter team, Del Moomo. This character can be found in the pages of Dark Hose comics Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic written by John Jackson Miller and inspired by the artwork of Brain Ching.

Figure is a complete sculpt for the exception of the hands, neck of the head and parts of the feet. The sculpt was build around a custom built articulated frame.

Figure has 12 points of articulation.

Sculpt made with Aves FIXIT.

Hand painted using Testors Polyscale and Floquil acrylics.

Fifield Monster - CGI Version. Prometheus 1:18 scale. Weathered some of the upper body armor to the creature. The frame for the body is being built now - using some clay to hold the armor and head in place. I have several casts of the head made and will be painting multiples...when complete I will recast the painted heads in a thin layer of Crystal Clear to give the look of a fluid membrane covering the head The multiples are for "trial and error". #Prometheus #ilikerocks #fifieldmonster #sith_fire30

Sculpting the "Sleep Mask" the Engineers wore during their century long slumber in the Orrery room. Prometheus - 1:18 scale. Last image is a production shot for the film. Not sure how long they slept but long enough to require a breathing apparatus #Prometheus #engineers #sleepchamber

Build/Paint progress on "The Beast" -Translucent concept variant - 1:18 scale. Building this little bugger is no picnic, it's the payoff that makes it worth it...not in the monetary sense (it's a personal project) but the satisfaction of creating something from nothing. Still have plenty to paint on this guy but may apply sparingly on some parts that are looking great translucent. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎translucence‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎concept‬ ‪#‎variant‬ ‪#‎neca‬

Began work on the frames of the first three characters form the 1979 Alien film - Ripley, Dallas and Ash. Still need to reduce a bit more for Dallas and Ash - I have placed magnets in place of the joints for the waist of Dallas and Ash so to switch out upper bodies with alternate sculpts. The next 4 head sculpts are in the works - Kane, Parker, Lambert and Bret.

That's right!!! If i am going to create the cast of ALIEN I might as well produce some dioramas for the figures to exist in! I love the production artwork in ALIEN - Fun to recreate the scenes in 1:18 scale! More coming soon!

Sculpting progress on the mount for Dass Jennir - Star Wars Dark Times (Dark Horse Comics) - 1:18 scale. I enjoy the concept of the beast - a cross between a horse and a gazelle possibly? Was hesitant with the segmented articulation in the neck but feel the sculpt is able to handle it well. Added additional detail on the mane and began sculpting the hooves of the beast. #starwars #darkhorse #dasjennir #darktimes #comics #sith_fire30 #sculpture

Sculpt progress on the Space Jockey - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Using Aves FIXIT sculpt. Feeling very encouraged after my first sculpting session last night. I feel that if I can produce a successful head sculpt, the rest of the figure will fall into place. I hope this remains true with the Space Jockey. I feel I am "headed" in the right direction! LOL! Bad joke....Anyway, the plan is to complete the head sculpt early this week and then begin sculpting the rib cage and lower section of the creature. I plan to sculpt the entire piece using Aves FIXIT, using sheet styrene and monster clay as framework. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎spacejockey‬ ‪#‎hrgiger‬ ‪#‎sculpture‬ ‪#‎diorama‬ ‪#‎prometheus‬

The second of two semi-static posed figures is complete. This version depicts the creature as it appears in the deleted "crab-walker" scene from the 1979 film as Lambert and Parker make a desperate attempt to escape the Nostromo. This deleted scene however was thought comical by many, not well executed on film and revealed too much of the creature...reducing it to nothing more than a man in a rubber suit...something Ridley Scott was avoiding by using smoke and shadow.

Hand sculpted, hand painted. 1:18 scale. I borrowed resin cast parts from the original Alien figure I created a year earlier, made modifications to the torso, neck, shoulders

and legs.

When crouched or "crab walking", the figure is approx. 3" high from highest point on head to the feet. When standing, the figure is approx. 5.25" high, still not fully erect as the leg and hip joints limit the full motion (again, this was originally meant to be a static posed figure). Fortunately I was able to add several articulation points to the figure: Ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. Vacuum formed PETG dome is removable. The tail is static but is attached using a revoltech joint and can be switched out with a longer tail option.

Original was sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt, a two part epoxy. Parts were cast in resin and assembled to build this version. Used Model Masters Polly Scale and Tamiya acrylics.

Sulaco Sleep Chamber build progress - 1:18 scale - ALIENS. Hoping from the Nostromo to the Sulaco, I've been working on the canopy to the sleep chamber. First I sculpted the shape of the canopy directly to a cast of the bed using Monster Clay. Once I had the measurements right, I shaved away approx. .125 - .25 of the surface from the clay form. Next I sculpted a "shell" directly to the monster clay form using Aves FIXIT sculpt, creating the canopy while adding plot lines where the windows will be knocked out. Once the canopy had cured for 24 hours, I loosened the canopy free from the bed and began to remove the Monster Clay from it's core. I've also refined the surface of the canopy and will begin adding surface details where needed. Once complete I will make a mold and cast the finished canopy then insert clear acrylic sheet to the inside to create the windows. #aliens #sulaco #sleepchamber #breakfastinbed #colonialmarines #sith_fire30

Nostromo Build Update - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Update to the Ladderwell and Ladder. So I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for the ladderwell build. I'm having to clean up seam lines, block in interiors all before molding and casting the piece. Last night I began building the ladder itself and what I thought was going to become an arduous task actually turned out quite simple. Just fused two pieces of sheet styrene together, plotted cut lines and with the help of my dremel tool, and xacto blade and sandpaper I have a pretty sturdy ladder which holds the custom figures quite well. Next up, the floor and my first ceiling build! ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎ladderwell‬ ‪#‎diorama‬ ‪#‎ripley‬ ‪#‎starship‬ ‪#‎scratchbuilding‬ ‪#‎styrene‬

Sculpt progress on The Space Jockey - 1:18 scale - ALIEN 79. Began sculpting the torso of the creature. Using Aves FIXIT Sculpt. Additional weathering will be added with a dremel tool once the torso is complete. Hope to have the sculpt of the torso complete by the end of the week, and the back of the Jockey completed by the end of next week. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎spacejockey‬ ‪#‎giger‬ ‪#‎derelict‬ ‪#‎avesstudio‬ ‪#‎sculpture‬ ‪#‎diorama‬

Completed casting of the Nostromo Bridge MUTHUR Entrance - 1:18 scale. ALIEN 1979. #alien #nostromo #model #smoothon

Haven't cleaned the cast yet - plan on doing that this evening. Back to sculpting for next week then later begin building the ALT entrance panel (opposite of the MUTHUR entrance) as well as building the small corridor that leads to the MUTHUR computer. Then paint all three panels at once. "Small moves, Ellie, small moves".....

Nostromo corridor update - Medical Bay corridor - 1:18 scale. ALIEN 79. Finished adding the wall detail to the corridor - each individual piece so it's a bit time consuming. The payoff is worth it though. Wasn't very sure of the wall design (lack of reference images) so this pattern may not be "movie accurate" but I'm not out to make sure every inch of the craft is 100% accurate or I'd drive myself crazy. I think the Nostromo gods would forgive me. #alien #nostromo #corridors #modelbuilding #sith_fire30

Build status of the Autodoc - Medical station on board the Nostromo. ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Building up the center tower to the tri-monitor suite, then the overhead. Starting to finally fill out a bit! Walls will come later. Need to detail out the bed a bit more (which is removable at this point) along with the head and foot rests. Build using sheet styrene. #alien #nostromo #aliencovenant #kane #facehugger #chestburster #diorama #scratchbuilding Alien Alien: Covenant News The Nostromo Unplugged

Sculpt progress on The Engineers - 1:18 scale - Prometheus. I included a scale shot of the creatures compared to the human sculpts I am working on - in this case Elizabeth Shaw. #prometheus #engineers #alien

Working on the version of the beast from ALIEN: Isolation. The big adjustment will be the legs. Other adjustments will need to be made but I will be installing some of my own preferences as well starting with the exposed teeth of the creature in the game - for the sculpt it will have the same mouth structure as my Big Chap figure. #alien #alienisolation #bigchap #sith_fire30 #Sevastopol

The 1:18th scale, 4" tall sculpt of Starkiller from the Force Unleashed 2 is completed. This sculpt depicts Starkiller as he appears in the teaser trailer for the Lucasarts game as well as many of the promotional commercials...

Starkiller's two head sculpts (standard and "rage") are original sculpts depicting the character from the concept art and not that of the actor. When I have time I will go back and sculpt an actor likeness.

The shoulder armor is a seperate piece and is attached by a clear band around the shoulder.

The body is a full sculpt using a custom made articluated frame or armature. The figure contains 14 points of articulation.

Included to hilts which are built from existing parts, can be attached to chest using clear banding. Also included are to sabers with attached beams. Lightsabers do not light up.

The arena robes are from the Darth Maleval box set and was altered/reworked then painted to give a worn look. Hood is from a VOTC Darth Sideous, altered and repainted.

Figure was sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt and hand painted using Testors Polyscale and Floquil acrylics.
