Sculpt update on the Protomorph - Alien: Covenant and the beginnings of the Newborn - Alien: Resurrection - both 1:18 scale.

Almost have the upper torso sculpt complete for the Protomorph. Need to complete sculpt detail around the shoulders and back. The lower torso and abdomen has a completed frame ready to be sculpted. A little flimsy right now but once the sculpt is complete is will give the upper body more stability.

The Newborn from Alien: Resurrection. A very early update - not much at this point but you can see where I'm going with it. Always felt sorry for this creature in the film...and it's death was HORRIBLE!!! Very hard to watch and way over the top in my opinion. Still one of my least favorite films from the ALIEN franchise but this beast was a great idea design wise in my opinion. They way it was used?...that's another story. Hope to have a handful of variants of the head sculpt - Neutral, "Mommy", "Fire BAD" and tongue LOL! Those that have seen the film know what I'm talking about.

Several work in progress image of the Nostromo Airlock Vestibule chamber - 1:18 scale. ALIEN 1979. After creating the vectors, I received several cut/etched parts needed to begin building the vestibule including the floor and two entrances. Next step is detailing of the pieces, molding/casting along with creating the walls that will bring the room together. At this point nothing has been measured so the pieces are spread apart more than they should. #alien #nostromo #airlock #sith_fire30 #daytonallen

Paint progress on "The Beast:- ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. A couple quick smartphone shots. The final head sculpt has been painted for this figure - that's 7 head variants total! This time I chose to paint the dome completely opaque at the front and picking up a little texture to go along with it. Better images later so you can see the inner jaw resting inside the partially opened mouth. I have the Alien" Isolation beast to paint up, the bodies of the 79 version and several other head sculpts and bodies to complete. Will spend a few more weeks painting then it will be back to sculpting some figures and the Space Jockey along with some diorama building. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎painting‬ ‪#‎sculpting‬ ‪#‎giger‬

Amanda Ripley in EVA Suit - Alien: Isolation. 1:18 scale WIP. If you've play the game by Creative Assembly, you know Amanda changes into plenty o' EVA suits during the game so to make a version in a line makes sense. Took and existing head sculpt of Amanda Ripley, removed the pony tail and sculpted the flight cap over her head. The rest is mainly joint work based on a casting from Lambert's EVA sculpt. #amandaripley #alienisolation #creativeassembly #eva #alien #sith_fire30

Three of the seven crew members from the Nostromo have completed head sculpts - Dallas, Ripley and Ash. I have begun work on the body sculpt for each as well as one of the three Nostromo space suits. Can't wait for the day when I can photograph the entire crew in 1:18 scale within a 1:18 scale diorama. Woohoo! :)

One Engineer sculpt COMPLETE!!! 1:18 scale - Prometheus. So much detail in these pressure suits - what came over me when I decided to sculpt 2 of them??? It's that hint of OCD insanity that creeps in from time to time I guess. All that lacks on the second one are the legs to be sculpted. I think the finished results make it worth it. #Engineer #Prometheus

Sculpt progress on the Neomorph - 1:18 scale - Alien: Covenant. Completed the initial head sculpt of the beast - open mouth, attack. The next step will be to mold and cast successfully. At that point, I can take a couple quality casts and mod the sculpt to create the other two variants. Began work on the upper torso of the Neomorph - update coming soon.Sculpted using Aves FIXIT Sculpt from Aves Studio LLC.

This sculpt inspired by the concept/production art by Colin Shulver - www.artstation.com/artwork/bxJYo

Quick Sunday update on the MU/TH/UR 6000 Chamber - completed the sculpt to the overhead section of the entrance way using Aves FIXIT. It's a solid block...was thinking of building a styrene frame to sculpt over but I had some older FIXIT I had to use up so what the heck...it worked out just fine. Still have padding to complete - hope to get an hour or so to complete that tonight. Threw the chair (still a work in progress) in there for the second shot. The 1:18th scale, 4" tall sculpt of Starkiller from the Force Unleashed 2 is completed. This sculpt depicts Starkiller as he appears in the teaser trailer for the Lucasarts game as well as many of the promotional commercials...

Starkiller's two head sculpts (standard and "rage") are original sculpts depicting the character from the concept art and not that of the actor. When I have time I will go back and sculpt an actor likeness.

The shoulder armor is a seperate piece and is attached by a clear band around the shoulder.

The body is a full sculpt using a custom made articluated frame or armature. The figure contains 14 points of articulation.

Included to hilts which are built from existing parts, can be attached to chest using clear banding. Also included are to sabers with attached beams. Lightsabers do not light up.

The arena robes are from the Darth Maleval box set and was altered/reworked then painted to give a worn look. Hood is from a VOTC Darth Sideous, altered and repainted.

Figure was sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt and hand painted using Testors Polyscale and Floquil acrylics.

Sculpt progress on the command pilot station to the Prometheus space craft - 1:18 scale. Prometheus. Using monster clay to come up with the rough sculpt. Not worried about the base at this time. Some additional work is needed before mold/cast/refine. Getting there #sith_fire30 #monsterclay #Prometheus #alien

Completed 1:18 scale, 4.25" tall sculpt of Darth Malgus - Sith Lord from the Lucasarts/Bioware MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Figure is a complete sculpt using a custom articluated frame as it's armature. The 8 different heads have all been sculpted and hand painted - each depicting a window of time in the life of Malgus and inspired by the cinematic trilogies created by Blur Studios: Return, Hope and Deceived.

All armor is hand sculpted and original. The chest and left shoulder armor are removable and can be replaced with "battle damaged" armor as an alternate. Hood is a sculpted piece and works along side the soft goods cape which is an altered piece from a store bought VOTC Darth Vader.

Lightsaber is hand sculpted, casted in plastic. Saber does not light up. Bean is removable from hilt.

Sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt and hand painted using Testors Polly Scale and Floquil acrylics.

Sculpt progress on Deckard - Blade Runner - 1:18 scale. Sculpt featuring a version of Deckard sporting his trench coat. It needed some adjustments to the coat to allow better articulation to the cut in the mid-upper torso, shoulders and elbows. It also needed some finer detailing. Still need to add some additional detailing to the lower half of the coat but other than that this version of Deckard is complete. #bladerunner #rickdeckard #deckard #replicant #repdetect #sculpture #harrisonford

The second of two semi-static posed figures is complete. This version depicts the creature as it appears in the deleted "crab-walker" scene from the 1979 film as Lambert and Parker make a desperate attempt to escape the Nostromo. This deleted scene however was thought comical by many, not well executed on film and revealed too much of the creature...reducing it to nothing more than a man in a rubber suit...something Ridley Scott was avoiding by using smoke and shadow.

Hand sculpted, hand painted. 1:18 scale. I borrowed resin cast parts from the original Alien figure I created a year earlier, made modifications to the torso, neck, shoulders

and legs.

When crouched or "crab walking", the figure is approx. 3" high from highest point on head to the feet. When standing, the figure is approx. 5.25" high, still not fully erect as the leg and hip joints limit the full motion (again, this was originally meant to be a static posed figure). Fortunately I was able to add several articulation points to the figure: Ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. Vacuum formed PETG dome is removable. The tail is static but is attached using a revoltech joint and can be switched out with a longer tail option.

Original was sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt, a two part epoxy. Parts were cast in resin and assembled to build this version. Used Model Masters Polly Scale and Tamiya acrylics.

Sculpt update on the Space Jockey - 1:18 scale - ALIEN (79).

Material used - Aves FIXIT Sculpt from Aves Clay

Completed the sculpt of the "control sticks" for each hand, "the interface" and detail along the back of the pilot's chair. I want to tackle the upper rear of the pilot chair before moving onto another project. Been a couple additional weeks than I planned to work on this piece but I'm "in the zone" so to speak and want to continue while not suffering a loss of interest. I'm doing this in my own time and not for a client so I have that luxury.

Crazy to think I look at this piece as becoming an "action figure accessory" or some part of a 1:18 scaled play set. It's where my mindset is...always has been since this ALIEN 79 project started. It just so happens that it's a sculpture study at the same time LOL!

I've taken care to be as accurate as possible to the Giger production version of the doomed pilot but I'm sure a few spots have emerged as "best interpretation" at this point. I'm not looking to be 100% spot on. I don't think anyone who has taken on this project has. I hope those of you who are die hard Space Jockey fans will be forgiving.

I did some casting to build a couple of corridor walls for deck A of the Nostromo. These two corridor walls are full resin casts and are about 90% complete in build - need to add a control panel or two as well as a few additional tubes/wire. Everything you see in these images are cast pieces from molds that came from scratch builds (for exception of the Parker and Brett figures). I'm very close to completing all corridors leading from the galley of the ship. All I need to do it create the flooring....which means some laser work is about to go out soon. #alien #nostromo #sith_fire30
