approx 15 minutes from any town

i imagine this is where most vehicles fuel up before heading to the race track. it's the only petrol station for 80km or so before reaching the eastern end of the salt flats.

A big green dinosaur on the roof of the Sinclair gas station in Star, Idaho. Taken with a Graflex Crown Graphic on Polaroid Type 59 film.

Launched in April 1974 by Sinclair Radionics, it cost £49.00 and used nixie tubes for the display.

John and Lenore Weiss were the driving force behind the restoration. These two, along with the dedicated volunteers from the Preservation Committee, did what others said couldn't be done. Hampton Inn® even donated $10,000 to the project. In fact it could be said that the Odell Station preservation project was the start of Hampton's interest in Route 66 with their Save-A-Landmark® project.

Dating from about 1720. Moved at least twice in it's lifetime it now sits in Manchester Centre next to the even older (16C) Old Wellington and the Mitre Hotel seen on the left.
