This is my best example of simplicity. I really like how the image is solely just a book and a heart-shaped from the pages of the book in front of a blank wall and creating a sense of focus on the book itself. To create contrast within my image, I used the monochromatic profile to create a subtle white tone to the image, and I decreased the highlights in order to create a balance between the darkness of the book and the lightness of the background. The mood I was trying to create was simple yet unique in order to display a love for reading and books.

I took a side angle of the book. The main focus is the words. I edit the color trying to make some of the words stand out more then others in light room.

Pants are a really nice pinstripe, even though you can't see it. Vogue 1051, my favorite slacks pattern.

This is my best example of Simplicity. I really like this photo because the pottery guy in right in the center and the quality of this photo is very clear. To create contrast in my image I had my exposure at -0.76, contrast at -12, and highlight at -49. Also, i put the temp color at 5043k, tint at +7, and saturation at +12. The mood I was trying to create was funny but some people could also find this image creepy.

Description: Wearable Muslin - Simplicity 1887 Shorts View C

Date Completed: 13th July, 2012

Pattern: Simplicity Pattern from the Remnant Warehouse

Fabric: Cotton (?) from the Remnant Warehouse

Comments: Woohoo, another wearable muslin. The fit of these shorts are FANTASTIC. I normally have problems buying shorts, so I am pleasantly surprised that these fit so well straight out of the packet. I guess having elastic on the back (only the back, not the front) makes it easier to fit?!

However, my only concern is that I couldn't figure out how to finish/attach the elastic to the waistband facing, which I've fudged here. Still wearable, but I need to sort it out before making another 2 pairs (which I have already bought the fabric for)!

Changes to Pattern None. Although I left off the ties on the waist.

View B - waistband and button detail. . . not 100% sure I like the type of button I used.

First muslin - the back. I didn't make any fit changes here, although I did merge the back and front yoke pattern pieces. I really dislike how poofy it is, so I'm going to try to eliminate the bottom pleats and shorten it so that it is more fitted in back. That will be muslin #2. More deets on the blog - Kadiddlehopper
