I made these super comfy jammy bottoms with verrykerryberry at the Fat Quarterly Retreat in London using AMH voile and some mods to Simplicity 9871.

Pattern: Simplicity 2151
View: C minus the epaulettes
Fabric: Stretch Cotton Shirting
Opinion: Meh. Don't care for the proportions. It's too tight in the hips, too long overall and the collar seems odd to me.

"To live content with small means;
To seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion;
To be worthy , not respectable, and wealthy, not rich;
To study hard, think quietly,
Talk gently,
Act frankly;
To listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart;
To bear all cheerfully,
Do all bravely,
Await occasions,
Hurry never.
In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common."

simplicity 3835 built by wendy pattern. After making a muslin I cut it in size 14 for the front, 12 for the back and shortened the hem and neck elastic.
I am pretty pleased with it and it fits, wooop!
This has been a WIP for three (?) years. It was my first tailoring project, and I got hung up (many times) on learning new techniques and doing hard stuff. I used a lovely wool melton and silk charmeuse to line, plus hair canvas, silk thread, and leather buttons from Windsor Button (sob!). First time doing bound buttonholds, pad stitching, steaming, really any hand sewing on a garment, and first outerwear. Inserting the lining and wrapping my brain around how it attaches to the arm holes was hard, but the rest was pretty straightforward with my Tailoring book. No excuse for the years!
It's not perfect by any stretch, but I'm pretty proud that I finished this, so I'm going to be nice to myself and not point out all the flaws. Once I recover from the experience, I have plans for a Built By Wendy jacket in wool houndstooth, if I have enough fabric.
MISSES’ ONE-PIECE DRESS – (INCLUDING SIMPLICITY’S PERSONAL-FIT TISSUE CHART):
Shift dress has lowered round neckline, short raglan sleeves, back zipper closing, top-stitching trim and optional tie belt. V. 2 has collar. This pattern includes an extra feature for those people who require personal-fit at waist and hip. The waist and hip can be made larger (or smaller) than regular size of this pattern.
CHILD’S AND GIRLS’ ROBE IN TWO LENGTHS:
Robe has set-in sleeves, collar and button front closing. V. 1 long robe has puff sleeves, is fully lined to edge and may be sheer fabric. Lining fabric binds collar. V. 2 and 3 unlined robes are shorter, have ¾ length sleeves and pockets. V. 2 is detailed with lace. V. 3 has self fabric tie belt and contrasting binding.
I took a side angle of the book. The main focus is the words. I edit the color trying to make some of the words stand out more then others in light room.
One of my tried and true go to patterns. Simplicity 2975 in knit!
Pants are a really nice pinstripe, even though you can't see it. Vogue 1051, my favorite slacks pattern.
