CHILD’S AND GIRLS’ ROBE IN TWO LENGTHS:
Robe has set-in sleeves, collar and button front closing. V. 1 long robe has puff sleeves, is fully lined to edge and may be sheer fabric. Lining fabric binds collar. V. 2 and 3 unlined robes are shorter, have ¾ length sleeves and pockets. V. 2 is detailed with lace. V. 3 has self fabric tie belt and contrasting binding.
Made using simplicity pattern 5695. I used a half yard of the paisley and a yard of the criss-cross. Made with quilting cotton from Hobby Lobby.

I think this is Simplicity 1449, and I think it is size 2. It's pretty close to if not exactly identical to Simplicity 5695 (now out of print), which is the first pattern I made when I started sewing again ~7 years ago. Fabric is April Cornell "A Little Romance."

This photo shows the composition technique of simplicity. I liked this photo the most out of all of the ones I took for this specific shoot because it captures emotion of my subject. I also like how the sun naturally rests on the headband and makes the yellow pop. When editing this photo, I cut down the exposure, contrast, blacks, and shadows, but bumped up the highlights and whites. I also messed around with the tone curve a bit and adjusted it to how I liked.
I got a better fit this time by cutting it a size smaller. This pattern is well on its way to becoming a TNT.
The freckled face rag doll with embroidered face and hair made of orange yarn wears one brown and one black sock, felt shoes and green bloomers. The blue dress with back snap closing and button trimmed tab is trimmed with contrasting band stitching and patches. The apron with ribbon ties has patch pocket. The sarong tied at one shoulder is worn with a lei and flowers made of red and white organdy.
