Pattern is a 1960's shift dress. I would size up one size next time--had to use 1/4" seam allowances on the two side seams. I've noticed others have made the same comment. I sewed the simplest version--other options include a collar and a bow at the neck.
I was tempted to cut the front on the fold and eliminate the center seam, but there is just a little bit of shaping there that I think is necessary for this style.

I am not sure that the bucket adds a lot to this composition but, in the bright sunshine, I decided that this would be an acceptable shot at a Bursledon Brickworks open day.

simplicity
This is my best example of simplicity. I like how rough the background is and it creates an urban environment typically associated with skating. To create contrast, I used the black and white setting in Lightroom with the black and white tone curve, darkened certain colors in the beanie and the pants, and brightened up the background. I was trying to create an urban environment and mood with this photo.
The model looks a little like Catherine Zeta Jones. I think the photograph looks better than the drawing, too.

Simplicity is woefully under rated. Our lives get complicated enough naturally, so why do we spend years in pursuit of complexity?
