Day 40 - Summer Project

I sing glory, from my lowest,

And I will say peace,

To the people I meet;

While the world

Waits for an explosion,

The instant of light,

That wipes that slate clean.

So for this picture, my intial editing concept didn't work out as I had planned. Instead I decided to do something simple with the birds and the colors.

What amazes me, is simplicity.

More in people, than in processes.

More in practice, than in theory.

More now, than ever before.

Tragically, simplicity is boring.

The buzz comes from complexity instead.

But of course, it is simplicity that puts complexity into perspective.

Shot a cop, an abandoned building, mourning windows, shiny happy people, characterful faces, etc.

But what this simple blank wall can do, to glorify a complex plant pot, is amazing.

What is also amazing, is the simplicity of capturing a satisfying shot, when not trying too hard.

PS: My handwriting sucks.

I made my own sepia tone by playing with the blue channel.

The color version was magnificent, but this monotone conversion worked just too well (in my eyes) to let it go.

I've been going cleaning mad today, because mum and dad come home today. well, about 3am tomorrow morning, but still.

I wanted to put my hair up for this shot, but, alas, i have no hairbands left. they've all gone missing or snapped. It wouldnt surprise me if most of them were down the floorboards.

I also couldn't decide what to wear today, and the outfit i chose was a bit awful, so i thought "Phbbbt, who needs clothes?" which is why i am starkers in this. Fwhee.

I'm addicted to using vintage effects♥

I'm not going to put a mature filter on this because I made sure i wasn't showing anything when taking the photo. I'm trusting you all not to be pervs. :)

When all else fails turn to the more common species. I liked this image for its simplicity so I thought I would share it.

MissJewell inspired me yesterday. Went out with intention to find the most beautiful yet simple shot I could. Simplicity is underrated.

This took me ages to get right. A sodding self took me ages to get right, like this. Grrrr. Oh well, I guess it turned out okay :)

Last day of college, EVER tomorrow! Not really sure how I feel about it :/

i called this simplicity mostly as i did not have to do any re-work in photoshop or minor -so a nice easy upload via 500px ift.tt/2ehDWO8

Sometimes, something as simple as a tree branch in water can look beautiful.

I added a golden tone to make the shot more interesting :)

Simplicity is the glory of expression

Another in a series of simple compositions, this was taken at the Domaine de Fayence resort in France, showing the top of a water fountain and a small window in one of the resort houses.

It amazes me sometimes how beautiful simplicity can be. A plain white facade with a few features of color is all you need. It is not of my faith, but this particular church holds a special place in our hearts and has for a long time. It isn't the building or the architecture. It is the man behind the pulpit who gives the building life and meaning. These days, in his light, we are all better versions of ourselves.

Kim's quotation fits so well:

And I might add: Organization makes simple things look unique and precious.

There's nothing like simplicity to add to a photograph. It gives direction to what the author or photographer is trying to achieve.

Such as the case here when I photographed Posse, a retired thoroughbred.

...which other shape in nature can better represent simplicity and perfection at the same time other than the eggs?

Humble and nutritious, regardless of their size they are always a perfect elipse.

They could not but be included in the Minimal Kitchen Stories series.

Tonight as I lay in bed, I contemplated the changes life has brought me over the past year. It has been a very good year indeed, 2007! For a time tonight I lay in bed and the moon was shining though the window, and as I lay there, I stroked the silky beautiful hair of my wife, Sherry Malone. I am almost frightened by how much I love her. I miss her when I am at work, and I am an absolute wreck when she goes away on a weekend jaunt with our boys that I cannot attend due to work.

Something very strange happened when I met Sherry for the first time back in 2005. The minute I met her, I knew she was my destiny. I knew she was the most perfect person for me...and that I was the perfect man for her. We have had a few tough spots, just like anyone does bringing two families together, but I know we will make it and thrive. Oh how I just love, adore and respect this woman laying next to me. Thank you Lord Jesus for bringing her into my life. I pray that I am everything she and our boys need! My love for her is whole and simple. Much like this rose.

I like the simplicity of this one, there is no photoshopping or anything in this one, just cropped slightly in iPhoto
