This is the interior of the main house on the Hornbeck Homestead. A family was raised here, cattle grazed here, and by a single woman in very hard times.

I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls off a string.
Simplicity for My Four Hens Project 52
This was probably the quickest little mini shoot I've ever done. Ten minutes of spontaneous self portraits captured in my garden last winter, with barely any daylight left and a rather extortionate ISO! Nonetheless, happy :] Full set

A very foggy morning - again.
I haven't sewn with any Lisette patterns yet, but have been enjoying sewing with the fabrics. This is a Cynthia Rowley pattern made from Lisette poplin with prudish mods--I raised the neckline by several inches and omitted the tucked hem because it was already quite short and I wanted to wear this to church. :-)

This took me ages to get right. A sodding self took me ages to get right, like this. Grrrr. Oh well, I guess it turned out okay :)

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci
More and more I find myself drawn into simplicity. Paring down I have learned is an art, both in one's life and in their expression; artistic or otherwise. It is not always easy, but it is necessary if one is to truly understand the beauty of subtle living.

A black & white Forster's tern taken against a dull grey sky.
I'm sure I could have posted the color version and saved myself the time and effort of converting this image to b&w, and no one would have known the difference.
