This beautiful orchid was on our dinner table at An restaurant in Cary, N.C., USA. One flower in a glass bowl with a few dark stones was an elegant addition to our dinner experience.

Conocimos a Yandy, un hermoso bull terrier staffordshire,durante nuestros paseos con nuestras perritas, y lo que nos encantó es que adonde sea que fuera no soltaba su tronco, solo cuando se lo entregaba a su amigo para que éste lo lanzara y entonces salía a toda velocidad por el.
Es realmente encantador ver a un perrito disfrutar de algo tan simple como un trozo de madera.

In my teens and twenties, a long time ago, the cheapest way of seeing the world (or at least Europe) was with a tent – and a pretty basic one at that. Here we are in 1965, when my best friend Martin bought a car and I bought the camping gear: tent, sleeping bags, Gaz portable cooking stove (remember those, anyone?) and off we went.
Here’s the car, a two-door Ford Anglia with inward-sloping rear window, two very uncomfortable folding chairs, and the tent at a very primitive camp site (basically a field) just outside Offenburg in Germany. We were on our way to Yugoslavia – which, in those days, was a pretty big deal. Such adventures!
The colour has faded and bleached after all these years, but this print was taken from a 35mm colour transparency, lost long ago.
