Stuff: the remains of bluebells amongst deep grass and cow-parsley.
Sumptuous black&white shadow tones strike again.
This sign once advertised Siegfried and Roy. I saw Siegfried and Roy at the Frontier in 1984, long before they moved to the Mirage, long before the Mirage was even built. Soon, it will be gone like so many of the classic old casinos that gave Las Vegas its character--the Sands, the Desert Inn, the Landmark, and now the Frontier.
Back from Yellowstone, and not yet in a mood to sort through all the pictures I took. I pulled us off into Idaho Falls on the way back to find some lunch and ended up getting a bit lost, so thanks to Mrs. W. and her navigation skillz we got unlost again. But there were a couple of cool things along the way.
This sign is pretty big, and sadly kind of hammered, but the motel was pretty busy and looked to be in good shape.

This reminds me of my son as he dashes out the door after school.

This sign is about three blocks north of me on 23rd Street, by Fargo South High. Also an interesting new wave by from the 1980s. "You think it's funny, I use my fist, I'm not trying to climb into a headline, I'm not trying to climb" by Slow Children "President Am I."

I finally found a McCain yard sign in Oklahoma City...in front of the state Republican Party headquarters! It amazes me to see in such a conservative corner of the country, how Obama signs vastly outnumber McCain signs...I literally have not seen ANY McCain yard signs, except for this one in front of party headquarters.
O' Bodega sign, I know you've braved the elements for years where you once lived.
If I could, I'd take you, and hang you around the windows outside my apartment.
I hope you will be happy wherever you are off to.
'Signing Alleluia'. Reverend Susan Myatt, Baptist Deaf Minister in Staffordshire, England, signing alleluia in British Sign Language (BSL). Prayer in the deaf community is visual, reminding us that prayer can be expressed in multiple ways - through movement, through gestures, through expressions. Susan (herself profoundly deaf) ministers in both deaf and hearing churches in both Baptist and Church of England settings. This photo was taken in Luther King House, an ecumenical theological college in Manchester, England.
Vintage sign for Hines Motel, on US 25 in Richmond KY - Sept 2011. The motel is still active but seems to be in decline. I'm not sure if this is an original sign or a reproduction.
Sign on Big Rock Amusements Fire Ball Ride. My wife and I visited the Robeson Regional Agricultural Fair on Saturday.
Visitors to this area almost always use the Metro, and are often amused by signs for the "Kiss & Ride". (The "Park & Ride" is for people who leave their cars at the station.)

This sign appears to have been neon at one time, but the tubes have been removed and the holes replaced with fixtures for light bulbs.
