A warning sign to remind people to be vigilant against forest fires adds a twist to the ending. This sign is displayed at the Tillamook Forest Center in the Tillamook Forest, Oregon. Most of the center is dedicated to understanding the history and causes of the various burns that occurred in the 30s-50s and the reforestation effort that took place. It's a really wonderful exhibit.
This photo appears on a page in the book DONT TREAD ON US by Mark Karis, forward by Chuck Norris. Published by WND Books 2010. If you are in the photograph please let me know.
2 shots that are very bland and simplistic (dare i say boring?) compared to the previous shot of the Town Hall ceiling with with all its vibrance and detail, but theres something about these 2 signs i like. im not sure i can say what it is, i just see some wierd kind of beauty in them...
(taken in Leeds City Art Gallery)
The sign appears based off the original Kiddieland sign. I'm not a fan of its placement in front of the neon, though.
So I hadn't gone to ride my bike at the Fort Ord Public Lands in over a year. I get barely a quarter of a mile down the road when it's closed due to construction. "What the???" They're building houses on just about the best place to go ride a bike and not have to worry about getting run over by cars. There are two rather larger vernal pools in the area that I can't imagine will be there once the construction is done. It's hard to believe that they got this development to pass. Bah. Stupid development.
