My wife is a very stubborn person and for days she resisted attempts to get her into hospital. Yesterday she gave in and is now getting proper treatment for pneumonia and two broken ribs.

These signs are the symbol of Hong Kong culture. But they all got taken down in one day without notice. Very sad!!

This sign is at the top of the walkway where I go to do stairs. There are 106 steps up and then down again I go! So pretty this time of year!
Classic, old-school Italian steak house. Might be the last one in town left. The signage is red (of course). I will probably shoot this again in color - maybe later on in the spring when there's more light after work.
in the heart of santa catalina, a pedestrian sign lies abandoned against a weathered wall. the stark black and white of the image amplifies the sign's loneliness, hinting at the countless stories that pass by unnoticed in this vibrant district. the tilted sign, meant to guide and protect, now rests in disarray, reflecting the fragility of order in urban life. this scene, captured in a moment of quiet neglect, speaks volumes about the unnoticed and overlooked elements that still play a role in the rhythm of the city.

The absence of people moving about can only mean that it is Sunday. Nothing moves until a much later hour in the morning and I rather enjoy this time to soak in the emptiness and quiet. Although to be honest, after a while it is a bit unsettling as to how quiet it can be and my imagination leads me down the path of George A. Romero.

Flanger signs come in many different shapes and variations on the railway. Their primary purpose is to indicate to flanger or snow-plow crews of approaching switches, crossings or flanges. These bent and battered pieces if aluminum still have a crucial role in todays modern world of railroading. Shot on the CN Chetwynd subdivision in February, the distinctive square shape of a BC Rail flanger sign is shrouded by a squall of snow from a passing southbound coal train.
