We left our mark in Watson Lake's Sign Forest. The forest was started in 1942 by a lonely soldier, and today there are around 100,000 personal signs. These signs were put up by visitors from all over the world. Some are license plates, street names, and handmade plaques like ours, whatever works.
It's not until I'd processed this photo that I realised just how many different signs are competing for attention along this street! It was the woman looking in the jewellery shop window that caught my attention.... none of the other shops were open at the time.

I visited this eco-lodge at sunrise in the highlands of Guatemala where the shop front is this sign with the parking rates. Obviously what they sell is the impressive view of the volcanoes and the Antigua Guatemala Valley. Here the Agua Volcano in the background.

The sign itself appears to be a bit of an antique. I like the dead ivy that once grew on the wall around it. This photograph is in living color.
